I feel the way you painted the helmet is backwards. A white base with dark grey chipping should look more like the white paint is on top of the dark paint

The reason I did it this way around is because I wanted to create the appearance of white wash on the helmet. White wash doesn't cover completely is translucent in places, much like what I've recreated here.

wouldn't it be smarter/easier if you divided the areas up by washes. so you could do all the areas that need a certain tone at a time. instead of paint tone paint tone paint tone, since you are very often using the same tone.

Great work,well done.i recently did as you suggested concerning the face.i used a games workshop flesh wash.it left the face shiny. Does the wash you use do the same.any help would be great.cheers

The Flesh Wash I used was mixed with the Quickshade Mixing Medium which takes out a lot of the shininess.
