Bolt EUV two year ownership update

I've just celebrated the 5th anniversary with my 2019 Premier (bought it brand new) and am still honeymooning with it. It is the best car I have owned in the decades of my driver's career. The only hiccup it ever gave me was that little 12-volt battery that went dead in the parking lot. I called OnStar, they sent a tow truck and replaced the battery. No problemo. Also, I did not quite expect is tires wearing out faster than on a fossil car. But then again, this is a very normal price to pay for a silent fighter jet taking off from 0 to 60 in 6.5 seconds. Otherwise, I LOVE my Bolt and do NOT plan to replace it any time soon. Great job GM! 👍

GM just needs to fix the slow DC fast charging with the next generation. Absolutely love my black 2023 Bolt EUV Premier Redline. No regrets or problems with 48,600 miles and second set of OEM self-healing tires.

about halfway through this video, I just realized I have never been in a bolt. I have watched so many videos. One KZbinr I enjoy who also has one is called Tom who lives in SC. He loves his to death too. I see them all over and I have to figure out how to take one for a ride some time. Thx for the video. I enjoyed watching.

I just bought a 2022 Bolt EUV this past June and I am loving this vehicle. The dealership Ibought mine from is heavily invested into EVs. I took a 500 mile round trip journey with the Bolt and I enjoyed the charging stops as I could get out and rest or walk around. It was the most relaxing road trip I had done in maybe forever. Hoping the next Bolt will be a winner.

I have a 2023 EUV in the same blue! Mine had transmission problems and it took three times at the dealership to get it fixed, they eventually replaced the transmission control unit and it has been good since (I'm a little over 14k miles on the new TCU). I have an Autel level 2 charger at home and has worked great, just ordered my NACS adapter for GM to use at Tesla chargers, so can't wait to test that out as it will make long trips SO much easier (at least in GA). One thing I found out recently however are the stupid windshield wipers do not take the standard adapter, they changed it in April 2024, so the replacements you can buy at WM or other places do not fit. Trying to find refills instead and so far the ones I've tried just slip out of the bracket, so this adventure is still ongoing.

Glad they kept improving the line with features like SuperCruise, the sunroof, additional rear legroom, and nicer infotainment. Such a solid option for almost every use case, except stupid-long road trips on a tight schedule. Yours looks great in that color, thanks for the review!

i have a 23 euv premier redline fully loaded. i love it too. charge at home and cheap as dirt to drive. i found the same thing, it's a solid built car. crank the sound and there's no pieces rattling or buzzing. ride is great for such a small wheel based car. battery weight helps that. and i too love supercruise on the highway, as the highway is all there is to get anywhere from where i live. major shopping is 40 miles away.

I drive 80 km (50 miles) per day, and my level 1 charging with my Bolt EUV has been great so far! I'm eager to see how the Bolt perfoms in our very snowy winters. I'm looking to buy snow tires in the next few weeks. ❄

I put Michelin X-Ice 16" on mine with dedicated winter wheels and it does fantastic here in Michigan. I highly recommend putting dedicated snow tires on and investing in separate wheels for them if you have the space to store them.

I've heard the Chevy Equinox EV and Chevy Blazer EV are very good. Great News from Chevy! I like the Chevy strategy with the Ultium platform and bi-directional power to your house when the power goes out.

I've had my 2023 Bolt EUV for a little over a year. I only use DC fast charging since I can't charge at home or work. Yes, it's slower than most but it's not an issue. I charge at an EVgo station at the coffee shop. I have a nice coffee for about 50 minutes, and I have enough charge for my daily commute for the week. I do think the steering is a bit light on the highway, but "sport mode" stiffens it up a bit and makes it just right.

I have a '23 EUV Premier, SS, SC. (Build date March, '23) My 5th EV and so far, the best EV. I have had a few issues with as well: at 2300 mi, the infotainment screen was replaced due to delamination of the srceen, Also, the sunroof gasket was faulty and was replaced. The rear shock failed and was replaced at 5100 mi. Currently, there's a rather audible buzzing sound emanating from the AC compressor that I will have service take care of this week. Other than that, it's been a great car! 🤪

I have a 2023 Chevy bolt EUV premier but I don’t have the sun and sound package and no super cruise but I love it. I’m willing to drive the bolt more than my Corvette especially on short trips to the grocery store or getting a quick bite to eat. I’ve had mine since May of this year. I’m really curious to see how it performs in winter even though I charge at home. I’m even possibly thinking about upgrading to a Cadillac lyric used of course.

Such a Great upgrade over the original Bolt EV. Did you tint the back windows or is this factory? I'm thinking of tinting the back windows to offer more sun protection for my baby son but wondering how much % tint I should get. Thanks

@@maximaalski Yes I tinted the windows right after buying the car. I believe it is 30% in the back, 80% for the front so it looks like most SUVs

How many miles on it? My 2023 EUV 2/24 purchase had a bad transmission coolant pump that needed to be replaced. I have a eco hitch for a bike rack and a Thule roof rack for canoe and also for 2 kayaks.

@@MrHockey172000 as of right now about 26,000 miles / 42,000 km. No coolant pump issues; I think that got cars made later in the 23 model year. Mine was one of the first off the line after batteries became available again

@@Arctic5fox surprisingly no. The Bolt is cheaper to insure than our 2016 CX-5. Chevy is $519 per year, Mazda is $527 annually. I know that's absurdly cheap compared to a lot of places in the US, so your mileage will vary

I've been in the market for a used Bolt for a short while now. They are not easy to find here in upstate NY, other than at dealers who jump the price up $4000... I bet you know why.

Now that GM cars can use Tesla superchargers, a used Bolt looks very attractive.

GM should have kept this EUV going for at least 3 gens before stopping it. The gap it filled in the market is going to competitors and the used EV market and not to the equinox

It will come back - next year - with improved battery tech. This tech is extremely slow to DC charge when the battery is cold, and you can’t preheat it. Works great with overnight charging, or in the summer, though.
