Greetings! Amon Amarth is from Lord of the Rings! Mount Doom in elvish tounge. Boltthrower is singing almost exclusively about the Warhammer 40k Universe.

Boltthrower's war themes were not just imaginary, they were 100% exclusive to the Warhammer game. Which could be considered a world within a world. Some parallel universe where war is the only pastime for everyone. The members of Boltthrower listen to nothing but Brutal Death Metal. The employees of Earache only appreciated Death Metal. Digby and the other Executives at Earache decided to underpay the bands because Carcass - Heartwork wasn't a multi platinum selling album. The label believed that it would become the best selling album of all time. Because to those who absolutely refuse to acknowledge any band without a cookie monster at the mic Heartwork seemed like a Pop music masterpiece. They were all in awe that the entire world didn't switch over to exclusively cookie monster Vocals. In their reality Death Metal was the only actual music that existed.

That makes sense! I love Carcass and I love Heartwork, but it sounds like Digby hoped he had another Covenant on his hands

Alot of these label stories are very funny! Like the Peaceville dude reading how to books on recording while recording actual Bands... then decides it would be a great idea to record Paradise Losts guitar completeley clean and 'fix' it in post production.

@@RiffWorshipPod I could have worded it with less satire, but Earache definitely put a lot of faith in Carcass - Heartwork becoming a mainstream success. Earache has more recently cashed in on the retro early 1980s sounding Metal bands. Thanks for reading my comment. Hope that you guys do a similar episode on California Disgorge

Earache invested everything into promoting and marketing Carcass, which broke the label. I guess that it's fortunate for Earache that they didn't owe any money to Varg Vikernes
