I know I am probably an outlier in the e-bike world but I barely feel comfortable going 20mph on my e-bike, which means that I am not in the market for a 35mph e-bike. I just don’t think that traffic expects a bicycle to be moving at 35mph, the brakes are barely sufficient for that speed and the safety equipment most bike riders use is not rated for 35mph either. Just my opinion and I know it is not popular.

I like E bikes but there is a huge problem... the system needs to be standardized... I have 5 different E bikes... the batteries have all gone bad and there is no standard battery to keep these bikes working...so I have bikes that are perfect with the exception of the battery that no one has in stock.... so... someone please come up with standards for Ebikes so we don't end up throwing perfectly good bikes into the landfill simply because there is no standard battery model...

Get an ebike with the seat tube battery, they make many replacements. Also you can send your battery in to get repaired, send it to FTH Power.

This is what I ride. With 26x3 tires - smooth and quiet. With that steep head tube angle - you get speed wobble in the steering when going fast - be careful. Very nicely built and painted. Very reliable after 3,000 miles. Amazing customer support. Easy to upgrade with normal bike parts.

@@MomberyMochi - I imagine that if you beef it up enough to pass DOT motorcycle inspection you're going to raise the price, and if you're selling it with a VIN, then you're not going to be able to sell it as a e-Bicycle anymore with plausible deniability. So now you just cut off, say, 75% of your market? Honestly, I'd rather put pegs on one, but then it would technically be a moped/motorcycle and I'd have to register it... No thanks.

I don't care how fast it goes as long as it goes 20 and can tow a wagon up a hill with camping gear about 80 lb. Is it the torque that gives it the power to make it up the hills if you have one leg and you can't make it up a hill it's really really messed up. I need a bike that has a lot of power I don't care about speed 20 seems like 50 on a bike. I've been following this channel since the beginning. Also why don't they have a three-wheel bike does not super expensive that doesn't flip on you with a lot of power to go up hills. I'm 62 and it is so nice to be able to get out of the house not in a wheelchair having lost my leg. When you ride your bike 30 MI to the campground with one leg they look at you funny. I could tell a load of wood 6 miles of substantial Hills to get back to Lakeside Beach state campground I live in Batavia New York.

Iv had the gen 1 for 15months 375miles , swapped the 150mm useless shock for a 160mm adjustable shock and improved the rear suspension by 25% or so..still needs improvement. The motor I have which is the older motor will do 35ish mph when peddling makes the same noise and will easily power up a very steep hill. Since I'm an amputee this bike is a total joy to ride but needs some improvements. Things I'd like to change 29 wheels with 3inch wide tire on the front 27 rear with 3 inch wide tires on the rear. 9speed gear set with better gearing. 200mm rear shock with rebound and damper adjustment. All that said I can whole heartily say this is a great first ebike if roads and light trails is your main stay.

The biggest problem with your argument is that indeed guys on these bikes ARE running in to children particularly on Multi-Use Parhs. We are under threat of being kicked off our local MUPs for this very reason. No, you can't stop like a car or make evasive maneuvers on what are basically extra wide sidewalks with very limited following distances at times. Using your experience commuting around town, do you honestly believe most can, much less will, ride side streets slow rolling stops (oh yeah, that isn't going to get motorist attention) just to stay ahead of traffic? When you don't stay ahead of traffic, once again, you are more likely to be harrassed. I believe almost all bike vs motorist crashes are the result of harrassment out of hand.

I'm really enjoying your videos and learning a lot! I had a question about a video you did that was about flat out and slime and other things to seal your tires. The flat out was the best sealant in your test but is it safe to put in your tires does it cause any problems to your bike in any way? I had one manufacturer tell me not to use flat out in the tires because it would mess up my warranty! Why would that be?
