Humor is the exactly right way to defuse extreme stress. Hospital workers, cops, and other people in stressful situations use it as a tool to de-stress. I’ll bet those cops were cracking jokes amongst themselves that you couldn’t hear. Some people come unglued, screaming and crying. Some😊 people become extremely fearful, shaking and turning away from the situation or running. You two faced it as a problem to be solved, and did what was appropriate. You called for help, and you, two very funny people who always enjoy joking with each other, used the coping method that gave you the most comfort. Bravo, Alex and Liz! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

You saved the whole city from blowing up!! Not really, but you did the right thing. I remember calling the non-emergency number once when I smelled an electrical "fire" odor and asked for a little truck to come check it out. They basically thought I was a crazy lady and told me to dial 911. Another time right after Mad Harry, the Chemist, retired and I was checking out his lab, I had to call the bomb squad out 3 times to get rid of potentially explosive chemicals. So good work there.

Very scary. I've seen it happen on magnet fishing with them pulling up bombs. They had them put them in bucket of water. But they pulled it out of water. But bomb squad did come. And took it somewhere else and detonate it. Glad you are safe.

Such a scary situation - we found compression grenades in a locker once and had to call the police, luckily they had been detonated already because we take everything out and go through it at home, so we drove home with that stuff in our truck....
