@@123FUG33 Oh, I understand what you are saying. The reason I am saying it was not his fight that night was that the guys whose fight it was were right there & capable and 20-25 deep to Orlando's 1. Now, if it was just Pac & Suge, then this would be a different story, yet even then Pac was growing and better knowing what happens when he goes and throws down, meaning at that point he went to jail for a couple weeks for the Hughes brother fight, remember his interview outside of the courtroom after he got sentenced for it? I know that is a totally different story, I'm referring to what Pac said he knew he learned at that point. I LOVE Tupac. I have said since '96 that the greatest loss of our generation is Pac & I still believe he is the greatest loss to the world. We need him here now so badly. Had it not been right after the fight, I think Pac would have not charged Orlando. If it was any of the others there, including the ones who kicked him he would not have shot anyone, I think he was pissed it was Pac, maybe not even b/c Pac wasn't affiliated, but b/c I think he lost his musical hero & then it became an ego issue. Orlando was going to say he shot Pac, not that Pac got away with jumpin' him. I may be wrong, but if we could talk to Pac today, I think he would say it was dumb, too. I think he would have said it later that night or the next day had things gone differently. I just keep thinking, too, what was Pac thinking, he knew if he broke his parole he would go back to jail & that was the one thing he didn't want to do.

How the fuck did Suge "hold him down". For a start it was Interscope that paid for the bail, not Suge personally. Jimmy put up the money because he wanted to offload Pac to DR because he was a liability. For another thing Suge was stealing from him, even going so far as to charge Nate Dogg's child support to his account. He wasn't the first person he did this to, but he was the most profitable. A man who "held him down" with the worst contract I've ever heard of, that was 3 pages long and read more like a memo than a professional recording contract that are typically 10-12 pages long. A contract that was so bad, when Afeni sued DR over unpaid royalties, she had to renegotiate it for a more equitable rate. That new contract again, was negotiated by Interscope, because DR couldn't be bothered to turn up to depositions. Thirdly, this man that you say "held him down" paid the man that shot him to lie on the stand and say he didn't touch him. Then said he wouldn't tell the police if he knew who did it "because I don't get paid to solve homicides". Not only did he know who it was, he refused to do anything about it legal or otherwise. I'm so sick of this bullshit narrative that Suge has ever in his life, given one single solitary fuck about anyone other than himself.

I don't think Tre was asking permission but Pac took off before anyone could blink by the sounds of it. One interesting thing to think about that I never hear anyone mention. If Kadings theory is true about Puffs hit on Pac and Suge (and we know with certainty that the link between SSC and Bad Boy existed), then Pacs days were numbered regardless. How coincidental is it that he jumped a guy from the gang who was going to try kill him at some stage anyway. Who knows, maybe Orlando would have been the trigger man in either scenario. That is wild when you think about it. So, in this scenario he "died over a chain" (although I'd say more for what that chain incident represented which was disrespect aligned to the rumour of Bad Boys bounty on the chain), but he would have died over his rap beef ultimately if that theory is correct. We know Kefee D was at least willing to try set up Zip to confirm the hit for the Police investigators, so it could be true.

Let’s be clear, Puff didn’t actively solicit assassins to get rid of Suge and Tupac. Nor did he place a bounty on their head. What transpired is that in general conversations with Keefe and other Crips, Puff flippantly said “these two mothereffers keep hassling me,Lord I so hate those two and will pay anything to get rid of them.” This was just a frustrated man venting. Keefe and the others responded by saying “Sh!t, you don’t have to worry about those n!ggas, you give the word and we’ll take care of them.” That was it. But as our people do, some dumbass started talking sh!t about Puffy having placed a hit on Suge and Pac, when that wasn’t ever the case. And you really believe that if Puff had placed a bounty on Suge and Pac that they wouldn’t have found out about it beforehand? There was plenty of smack and threats of violence from both sides, but Puffy was way too smart and wouldn’t have had the nerve to actively solicit murder. All this being said, Keefe D is the one to blame for Tupac’s death as he was the boss, and nobody would have fired into Suge’s car if Keefe D hadn’t given the ok. And you all keep laughing at and with Keefe. This is a man who had known Suge since childhood, and yes they were in rival gangs, but still he had no problem having his nephew or whoever shoot at Tupac and Suge to kill them.

I agree with you in that, it could have been a simple venting of frustration to the wrong people, if you take the lower end of the theory. I'm not saying it's beyond doubt, but Kefee knew the consequences of lying to the cops in his proffer deal and went to NY to try to get evidence of that (specific or loose) arrangement. But your argument doesn't negate the fact that whether Puff was serious or not, the crips believed it was a credible avenue to get money and had from that point some intention that if the opportunity arose they may cash in on that loose arrangement which they obviously did. Zip of course was in Vegas and according to Kefees testimony at that time, supplied the firearm. Now Kefee is of course a liar and an unreliable person but I put more stock in what he told the cops at the time to save himself vs the tales he spins now to save his reputation and street credibility. My point is, the potential murder for hire was in the air with that offer from Puff (specifically or loosely solicited) and it put Pac in danger beyond the scope of the incident in Vegas having ever occurred. I think that's a logical conclusion. There is a reason Puff hasn't sued Kading or anyone else for these claims. He doesn't want to be deposed on his links to SSC or Zip. So, yes that's pretty smart, but both links are a matter of historical record and irrefutable.

I personally don’t subscribe to the notion that collecting a purported bounty was partly a reason Tupac’s shooting occurred. It’s never actually been proven that any money exchanged hands. We hear one story here and another story there about a check (seriously? I’d place a hit on someone and pay with a check-even if it’s disguised as payment for something else!?). I see Puffy as a victim in all of this. The origins of his conflict with Suge was Suge attempting to press, strong arm, and bully him. All Puffy wanted to do was make music. He was no gangster, thug, gangbanger, nothing hard. But to survive, especially when in the west coast, he had to hire muscle. Suge definitely wanted to kill Puff though. I’m not sure about Tupac (wanting to physically harm Puff). But I know that those videos he made depicting Puff and Big were filled with hatred and threats of murder. I like Tupac, and I wish matters didn’t devolve to the point where active gang members and gangbangers got intimately associated with entertainers. But Death Row Records was a cesspool of gang activity. Dre split. Even Snoop had to fly in the back of a plane with a knife and fork for protection! I’ve never heard it anywhere that artists on a label were frightful that their own label head and label mates would kill them. Puffy keeps receiving a bad rap because he’s a survivor. Do his critics ever consider that he’s survived and thrived because he’s handled matters the correct way and shied away from confrontation?
