i just did this a couple weeks ago by myself. i saw a moose below bomber lake and a moose above upper ross , and i came within 50 ft of a bear after the outlet of ross and working my way over to the switchbacks. I am really impressed you two did this 👏🙌 well done guys.

Sounds like you timed things right with the wildlife. Few people are crazy enough to do this loop. It's nice to meet someone who appreciates what we went through. Happy trails.

I enjoyed your video! Our family has been going to the Wind Rivers and the Green River Lakes since the 1940's. I made a video describing my family's history with this beautiful area of the world.

Great video. I did that loop a couple of years ago after seeing Joey’s video of the loop on MyOwnFrontier. It’s a difficult hike as you know. If you go back, you’ll have to visit the B24 bomber crash site at the top of Bomber Falls. The fishing is also excellent in Upper and Lower Ross Lakes. It was fun to see some of the same campsites I had visited. The beach camp on Bomber Lake is so,pretty. Thanks for sharing.

Cannot thank you enough for posting this. I’ve hiked in that exact same area every year (except 2020) since 1999. I frequent Lake Louise, I have hiked the Whiskey Mountain trail (which I think you took near the end of the video to get back to your vehicle), and I hike the Whiskey Creek trail three times per summer. Beautiful terrain and, as you mention, hard yet rewarding work. Your video brought back many fond memories.

Steve & Sandy, Fabulous adventure! Amazing scenery! Excellent camera work. Great descriptions. Curious about the following: Approximately how many miles were you doing per day? Is it safe to say that off trail you were doing less than 1 mile per hour? You cut over to the right side of East Torrey Creek. Looking at the maps & air photos, it seems like you could stayed on the left for a long way before reaching the narrows. Would that have been better? How bad were the bugs? Without log crossings you found, would some of the water crossings been if not impossible, at least very, very difficult? Keep up the the great work! Chris in Colorado

You have a lot of questions. We did 9.6 on day 1 with an avg speed of 1.3 mph; Day 2 we 6.8 miles at 1.1 mph; Day 3 was 9.7 miles at 1.6 mph. It's hard to say if it would have been easier to cross East Torrey Creek further up. There appeared to be a lot of boulder hopping, swamps and downed trees on that side of the river. If you do stay on that side just make sure you cross before it starts heading uphill in order to catch the off and on trail on that side. The bugs were there but it really wasn't near as bad as we though it would be. If there were not log crossings at the outlet of Upper Ross Lake as well as the outlet to Ross Lake it would have been impossible for us to cross at the same locations. We would have had likely had to go into the lake and ford before fast outlet current started, while carrying our packs over our heads. I actually watched a Joey Coconato video where he did just that at the Ross Lake outlet. I'm sure glad we didn't have to do that. The biggest tip I can give you for this hike is to keep climbing up the boulder field along Upper Ross Lake beyond where you may think you need to go.

So what was your position-- are u looking due west or east or south ? I'm just thinking the incredible shot I would like to catch with that very spot.

@@amranackerman9656 We were about 1/4 of the way from the southern point of the lake looking southwest.
