N64 gameplay of Bomberman 64.
Bomberman 64 is a 3D,4 Player,Platform game.I actuallly consider this game to be a 'worth playing',even though it's underated.
*On Adventure Mode,a being called Altair,along with his 3 most trusted minions,has stolen the Omni Cube,it possesses the power to take over the universe.While he has already striken multiple Planets,Altair sets his next target as Planet Bomber. While Altair attacks,Bomberman is concerned of saving his planet and meets a strange being with the name of Sirius.Sirius is willing to help Bomberman so that he can defeat Altair and save his planet...or is he?
After collecting the 100 gold cards,you'll realize that Sirius was using you so he could get his hands back on the Omni Cube and use it's true power to conquer the universe and destroy Bomberman,along with Planet Bomber.It's up to Bomberman to infiltrate the Rainbow Palace,defeat Sirius and destroy the Omni Cube.

Yeah some cool stuff happens when Sirius betrays you. If you fight the spider, normally Sirius catches you if you fall through the spider web. But after, you'll die. Also he doesn't give you remote bombs anymore, you have to break it open

You forgot to mention that he also plants fake drones of himself throughout the levels and where the place you fought him at, and if you try to ask him for advice, you will only receive a threatening message

As a kid, the Rainbow Palace levels were like a legend to me, mysterious and awe-inspiring. I only saw them later after using a game shark and I was totally hopeless in completing them, not to mention with the gold cards. Even now I don't think I'd have the patience or skill to get the gold cards, after seeing how it's done.

You even do the self-stun-bounce bomb hopping maneuver better than me...and STILL have trouble getting all 5 gold cards. Je-sus. I'm just glad I was able to even get here so I could beat the crap outta that treacherous Sirius. All those years never knew...

I played this back in 97/98, before I even had internet access. Or even knew what GameFAQ's (Sega Sages back around then?) was. I just sort of collected all those gold cards to see what happened, and this whole stage was unlocked. As frustratingly hard as it was, it's still one of the best and most nostalgic secrets, in any game I've played.

Hahaha I'm so glad you kept footage of failed attempts. Brought back so many memories of head scratching trying to figure out the exact right spacing and timing + placement of bombs for jumps on this stage and others. What a challenging fun game. I can't believe I first played this about 25 years ago! Time flies 😭

As well as appreciate how the self-stun-bump is more an art than a science; an absolutely necessary, albeit unofficial, technique just to even get here. Some argue parsing out bomb jump in onyx city level 3 takes adequate timing and spacing and is easier, but tbh being so tedious, it more often doesn't quite go right like it did in the credit sequence for the crap ending.

I never did get all the Gold Cards in this game, but that platform sequence over the bottomless pit just to clear the stage is unreal. Now that I look back at this game, it had a very underrated 'bomb hopping' platform/puzzle aspect . Very different from a franchise not exactly lauded for it's single player mode.

You aren't the only one. However once I learned there WAS a world 6 in this game and that Sirius was a traitor who was using Bomberman this whole time...I did what I had to in order to just get here. Whereupon I realized that ultimate completion for some games requires an inordinate amount of frustration...I decided, since these extra gold cards weren't strictly necessary, just to try my best...but maintained that even if I failed, just to go after the traitor and kill him once and for all.

The principle is a science. The self-stun-bump technique used for the first card is more of an art but sometimes is the only thing that works to pass an otherwise impassable area. OR works better and faster than would the tedious bomb-bounce build-ups for same in applicable areas, though obviously trickier.

This game is a bitch. But that is what makes it so fun, figuring out all these ways to cross gaps and shit. One of the greatest games on the N64. Damn shame the sequel to this game is so damn hard to find. Expensive as hell on Amazon too. Hero was good, but I prefer these. They need to make more games like this.

Lots and lots and lots of practice. Also it didn't hurt to have a strategy guide because bomb jumping was stupidly difficult and near impossible to figure out on your own.

when i saw this level for the first time after getting every single gold card, i was amazed. The map design is truly amazing and so beautiful. The music is magical. I have never had an experience quite like it. And not only does it break everything the game had established as far as how the puzzles worked, but the challenge really was worth it. It rewarded you with the most difficult and mind-twisting puzzles of the game, forcing you to have to really put all your skills to the test from the previous levels. I had to think long and hard how to solve them, but it was totally worth it.

This was my first n64 game. I got it when I was 7 for Christmas. Holy shit the bomb jump frustration was fucking ridiculous something a 7yr old should never have to go through xD I said fuck the golden cards right off the bat.
