I have been doing my own acrylic nails for 20 years and I just now randomly figured out glitter ombre...like last week...keep trying, keep practicing, keep not giving up. It might take a long time but you will get there. I cap everything in clear because clear is the strongest in terms of bonding to the nail and not breaking. There is actually science behind this. When you start adding pigment powders and glitter to the acrylic it slightly changes the chemical reaction between the liquid and the powder. The bonds are not as strong because the pigment and glitter are not part of the reaction and they prevent the molecules from combining as tightly as they would without any additives. It results in acrylic that is more brittle when fully dry and therefore more susceptible to damage or breakage which could lead to an injury. The clear cap provides structure and stability and protects your design.
