Underware is important. Not just for in the woods or back packing. If you work outdoors you will appreciate them. Before I retired I started with a line crew for an electrical company in California. There is nothing like working and sweating all day in the summer heat and be told you can't go home because of a lightning storm, which means you will be working all night long also. As the hours go by you are walking like a bowlegged cowboy. It got to the point I carried a ketchup squeeze bottle with the pointy tip with a mixture of baby powder and talcum powder. I would stick that in my pants and give it a squeeze to get some powder down there. So good underwear Chris is talking about is worth it's weight in gold when you need it.

+PREPAREDMIND101 do you have to buy them a little smaller than your actual size?

I bought them the exact size of my jeans. The measurements that are listed are with the elastic all the way stretched. So for instance I am a true 34 waist and the 34's are a little tight in the waist but good everywhere else. I think the 36's would be too big though. If I lose 10lbs they will fit perfect.

Awesome recommendation Chris! That is such an unbelievable deal. With all the "tactical" brand name pants, while nice, are just crazy priced. Hell, $20 doesn't buy a pair of sweat pants most places. This is definately a find and a reason I like your channel, your honest with your viewers.

I own at least 1 pair of each major brand of tactical/BDU type pants (Tru-Spec, Blackhawk!, 5.11 Tac-Lite Pro, etc) and decided to try 2 pair of the discontinued model of LAPG Operator pants w/ lower leg pocket, 1 in my regular size (Black), and 1 in a size up (Sierra). They have lasted 3 years, fit comfortably, and work well. I decided to get one more pair in Coyote Brown in the new style w/o lower leg pocket. They're thicker that the discontinued model, but the size was perfect, so far, no problems at all. I am lucky enough to live near their warehouse and new retail store in Castaic, CA. It has allowed me to avoid delivery charges, be able to really check out all the LAPG brand merchandise, and I have to say that their stuff is all VERY high quality and LOW priced. Their LAPG brand 3-day pack and the LAPG brand bail out bag is a very low cost, yet VERY HIGH QUALITY Combo for an organized bug out system. The variety of colors can help me blend, get that "semi non-camo gray man" thing going that I feel will be effective in my area. And my GF wanted one of the bail out bags to use as a purse for work, so it's good for multi uses.

Glad I discovered this old video. LAPG is still offering these pants, at $24.99 now. But that's still a great price. Got a pair headed my way. With economy shipping, it's still only $33.oo in America. It's nice getting a really good pair of practical cargo pants without paying almost 3x as much for quick dry technology I don't need. Thanks Chris!

I always buy LA Police Gear pants for work and camping. I was lucky enough to snag the alternate version with the lower leg pockets for about $22 when in production. The unadvertised thing I like about that edition is that the large cargo pockets have two divided pockets inside for ammo mags (holds them vertical for ease of movement). I use them for organizing four additional items of gear (flashlight, mini-wallet, small smartphone, fire-starter). You feel the bulk of the extra layer of fabric, but its worth it. No idea what to do with the ankle pockets. Things fly out when I run. Perhaps I'll keep light bandanas in them.

I have a few pairs and they have lasted well for many hiking, outdoor and shooting adventures- in addition to wearing them for work related activities in the clinic/barn working with horses and large animals. Never mind the haters and critics. I may not buy these pants but I think it's high time you put some long term test reviews up. Good idea. I'd like to see some other long term use reviews and follow up videos a year after the "unboxing". Motor Trend does that all the time. It's very practical. Isn't that what it's all about? First impressions are fine but don't speak to durability or method of use. Unboxing videos are next to useless.

Owned a few LAPG pants. Every single pair I've owned has had the velcro give out very quickly, either from the loop field becoming frayed or the patch coming straight out of the stitching. It isn't double stitched or cross stitched like on other tactical pants. In one pair I had a zipper bust on me, and on another it failed to lock up. The fabric is tough and the belt loops and seams are all solidly reinforced, but you can see where they trimmed costs.

I ordered 1 pair in OD green. I was So Impressed with these pants the quality is outstanding,we will see how they like the woods of the Ozarks. However,I ordered 5 more pair cause the fit / size I ordered was just what fits me. The tie strings on the legs were a bonus as far as i'm concerned. I have been using old Army Blousing rubbers that always fit a little too tight so was delighted to see the ties on the pant legs.I like to wear my Nylon Fishing cargo pants here in the summer its so hot and all. I will probably end up with two pair of each color :P Thanks Chris..

Thank you for your review of these pants however the only issue I foresee with those pants would be the manufacturer. I have purchased from LA police gear a total of four times. Of the four times I had my order delayed for over 2 months on two orders and the other two they canceled my order without any reasons given. It wasn't like I was purchasing a rare or hard-to-find item, the items I purchased were displayed in email promotions that I received. I am quite familiar with the bait and switch methods that some unscrupulous companies use but this is an example of that multiplied by 10. LA police gear is the worst company to deal with, ever.

Once you apply a deodorant stick to your underarms and they're pasty from it, rub in some baby powder and your good all day.

Quick note on those Ex-Officio boxers... Its all I buy now. I can vouch for the 30 day claims too. They are ALL I travel with i took a 3 week business trip to Seattle, WA last year and only packed 2 of their boxers 2 put them to the test and they are now essential gear for my travel needs. Highly, highly, highly recommend them. I managed 3 weeks in the city walking a minimum of 3 miles a day and they held up well without funk or chafing problems. I have 4-5 pair now and they work fantastically... Just DO NOT dry them using a hot setting in the dryer or ghe material will ruin as its elastic like spandex. I hunt, fish, camp and travel for business with them as well as use them daily. Its one of the best minimalist clothing items I own.
