Woow! Guys you made osom video about HT550 and Joachims adventure in whole meaning of this word. I think HT550 its all about "adventure" at first and than about race. Scotland is incredible, hope to take participants on HT550 one day.

Hi :-) ... would you mind telling me what handlebar you've got on your gravel bike. Many thanks
@joaros23743 жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm running a Bombtrack Beyond handlebar in 46cm. Nice and wide, in the drops they are 64cm! :-D

Would love more info on Joachim's particular build up kit. Especially, what handlebars are those? And, what system is he using to attached water bottles on the front fork? takk fra Tromsø, Norge
@joaros23746 жыл бұрын
What Kent said! ;-) Only thing missing on the kit list up on Bikepacking.com is electrical tape and a few zip ties. The handlebars are Bombtrack Beyond in 46cm (64 in the drops!). Other than that, the only way this bike differs from the stock bike is that Iran a oval (absoluteBlack) 28t chain ring. The EXT-C does is a ready to rip bike! Bare hyggelig fra Berlin! Joachim

@@joaros2374 Great video. How did you mount those 2 bottles so high on your fork as they appear to be above the stock bosses on a Bombtrack fork? Cheers
@joaros23743 жыл бұрын
@@grobbosixtyone Hi Bill, on the first edition of the EXT-C the bosses were that high. Quite convenient.

chapeau indeed! clocked the fig rolls in the handlebar bag, food of champions. Joachim, what were you using for power source? as per another comment it would be really interesting to get an idea of the full kit list required for something like this
@joaros23746 жыл бұрын
You can find the full kit list here; www.bikepacking.com/plog/highland-trail-550-video/ Well spotted - fig rolls are awesome, such a shame you can't find them elsewhere in Europa! Power source? Basically anything you can find. There are long stretches without food on the HT550, so whenever you find a place to buy some, you stock up! I usually have a one spare bidon that I use for chocolate milk. Another thing I like is a block of cheese to chew on, whenever you can't see sweet bars anymore. And off course a jar of peanut butter is always great, if you have the room. ;-)

Joachim, thanks for reply. mountain biking youth was spent fuelled by fig rolls and frazzles (bacon flavour crisps) by power source, i meant solar panel or anything like that? was the powerbank enough to get you through? i was going to ask about midges but that is already covered on teh blog, i think that would deter more than teh physical endeavour of the ride itself. I am doing dirty reiver, 200km, in april, will see what i think after that.
@joaros23746 жыл бұрын
Ah, sorry. Wrong power source! Haha! I use an eTrex 30x which runs on normal or rechargeable batteries, so I carried a bunch of rechargeable ones. The only other electric device I has was my phone and for that I carry a 20.000 power bank. With that I could charge my phone once a day. Oh, and the Lupine Piko light with the 6.6 Ah SmartCore battery lasts for the 4 nights of riding.

I really like those maps you blend in. I was just wondering how you are making those maps. Is this all created manually or do you have a tool / application you can recommend. Thanks.

Can you make your content inclusive by formatting the auto captioning into closed captioning please? it is extremely hard to watch it relying only on the auto captioning sadly (I'm Profoundly Deaf), hence why I and others don't subscribed.
