Probably my all-time favorite artist. The amount of emotion is insane. I used to listen to this at night and enter a state of pure euphoria. A combinatino of happiness, nostalgia, and sadness that I can't describe with words. This is something special.

This is a message I want to get to Bon Iver, but I feel like anyone who reads it can help me appreciate what I feel ----------------Hi 🙂 I understand that your songs probably weren't written thinking of people like me, but I wanted to let you know how much your music has carried me through such a hard time. From around the age of 12 I have struggled with my sexuality and when I was 16 I found your music through suggested videos on KZbin. I used to watch many videos during the day and during sleepless nights and even though the lyrics didn't relate to my situation your music made me cry in a way that helped my accept who I am. I am now 19 and have passed my first year of medical school as an openly gay teenager. I am a massive fan and appreciate your authenticity, it has helped me to overcome huge obstacles and appreciate who I am. Thank you for everything you have done and will do in the future, it means more than I can ever explain. Thank you so much.

I discovered The Staves a couple months ago thanks to Angus & Julia Stone, the girls were touring with them in France. And a couple weeks ago, I discovered Justin Vernon produced their album. Such a weird but good feeling, you know when you find out that your favorite meal is even better with your second favorite meal (does that make any sens ?). Well, Justine and The Staves together, that's what it was to me, the perfect and sweetest association !
@amay71429 жыл бұрын
I completely agree. I've loved Bon Iver forever and about 3ish years ago I seen The Staves sing on the Jools Holland Show and fell in love. Went to see them live and fell even more in love, Then Justin announced he was producing their new album!
@flyingfishsurf9 жыл бұрын
lea3ify Justin Vernon just put on a spectacular happening in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Two days of spectacular(hot) weather. Wind & storms at night couldn't stop 40,000 people in the wilds of the Midwest from having the time of their lives. Sufjan Stevens, The National, The Staves, Sturgill Simpson, Bon Iver, Phox & more collaborated with impromptu interchangeable members throughout the weekend. The sound system was better than most outdoor venues. There were performance artists & video premiers. It was like one big musical family. Cheese curds & Packers set the tone. What just happened? Once in a lifetime. The Staves singing Lump Sum was .......AMAZING. I love English vocalists.

flyingfishsurf I KNOW! (still crying out of emotion, jealousy and disappointment not to be there haha). I'm stuck here in France while you guys have the best things out there.. :p I would have loved to hear Bon Iver's new songs, especially #2 which sounded awesome !! Sufjan Stevens, The National, The Staves, a lot of my favorites artists were there, that seemed like a pretty awesome festival..

+ToraydoBull the thing that music has, that poetry rarely has, that short fiction and long fiction never have, is live reinvention. He's had years to rehash the structure of the song as well as, and more importantly, the emotions that inform it. Of course his talented friends add ; )

Wow, didn't know they collaborated, funny how genius find genius. Seeing him do this solo live on the 2011 tour was one of the highlights of my 40 years of concertgoing. The capacity crowd was completely rapt; someone sneezed and they got loudly shushed. NPR posted the show on its website and said, "there was so much love for Justin in the audience, it seemed like the crowd would rush the stage and eat him alive."

This my excavation and today is Kumran Everything that happens is from now on This is pouring rain This is paralyzed I keep throwing it down two hundred at a time It's hard to find it when you knew it When your money's gone And you're drunk as hell On your back with the racks as the stacks of your load In the back with the racks and the stacks are your load In the back with the racks and you're unstacking your load I've been twisting to the sun I needed to replace And the fountain in the front yard is rusted out All my love was down in a frozen ground There's a black crow sitting across from me His wiry legs are crossed He's dangling my keys, he even fakes a toss Whatever could it be that has brought me to this loss? On your back with your racks as the stacks of your load In the back with the racks and the stacks of your load In the back with your racks and you're unstacking your load This is not the sound of a new man Or crispy realization It's the sound of the unlocking and the lift away Your love will be safe with me

The worst that can happen is that 'you' are less desirable and 'you' feel uncomfortable enough in your own skin that it affects how 'you' live your life. Shaving it all off doesn't work for everyone. But, I know... Shave it! Man up! - The usual advice.
