Along with Justin's use of it, will go down for me, as one of the most inspirational instrumental/mixing ideas of my lifetime.

it's Messina, for Chris Messina. Also not used in the original Woods or the later Kanye track (those achieve a similar effect but not in real time by using vocal overdubs I'm pretty sure.) You're so fuckin right though, it's an unbelievable instrument and hearing it live was one of the best moments of my life

Damn. I saw Justin in Santa Fe back in September for a charity show. It was alike to this set, it just being Justin. And Chris. A lot of Chris, it was great. And it was so hard to distinguish whether Chris was actually needed sometimes, he would sometimes just come out part way and then return back stage, and sometimes would come do /something/ on the computer, despite Justin only playing an acoustic song. To add to the confusion Justin declared at the beginning that he and Chris were doing a performance piece, having been inspired after going to Santa Fe's Meow Wolf. It was a very intimate experience, I really felt I got to know Chris. He doesn't frequent the stage as much in this performance, but I am so thrilled to see he's still doing his thing.
