I was there. One of the best things about KZbin is that it can make you relive memories, memories from concerts when there were no mobile phones. And sure, watching old videos sometimes can be disappointing, but when it doesn't disappoint it can even give you a little bit of that same kind of magic feeling as it did back then....In this case I guess it is not even necessary to actually have been there in 1985 to see and hear that this was one of the best and magical concerts I've been to.....

I love the 84-85 era!!! They were so young and just on the brink of worldwide success. Here, they're just struggling, trying to get people to listen to them, innocent, hustling. I love baby Jon videos! How were they to know that their worlds would be turned upside down a year later.

Saw them on this tour open up for Ratt!! I remember the intro of Tokyo Road ( opening song ) and when it kicked in I jumped! 7800 is one of my all time favorites! July 6 1984 Welsh Auditorium Grand Rapids MI!

I got to see them play in 85, but no video cameras for me then maybe only thing I had was a polaroid instamatic camera ha ha The funny thing is I only remember seeing the Scorpions Love at First Sting I think it was, with them and not a clear memory of This band opening for them, but they did. OR That was in 84 im not sure which I first saw them so long ago I remember Hearing Still Loving you by the Scorpions in person in Concert it was a real thrill. NOT crowded it was on a School nite not many could go. I was so thrilled and was directly in front of the speakers loving every second. What a great memory.

This is the one time they played my hometown of Tilburg, in a very intimate venue. The Noorderligt music hall was a great place for rock concerts, Lemmy of Motorhead loved playing there, in part of the apparently totally cool crew that worked the venue on a structural basis. The entry had a bar with a pinball machine, behind which the concert hall was located: it felt like you really walked into a bar to hear a band play. Reunions and nostalgia evenings are still organized by local people who loved this place, a band of live music lovers irrespective of genre. It was replaced by 013 , a more contemporary venue, but as you can expect it is hard to copy intimacy / the original. I was too young to attend at the time, so I did not attend. Thanks for this double trip down memory lane Dominic!, or is it road!?

Thanks for this story! That's part of why I enjoy posting this old material so much. Time and time again, people share their anecdotes from that time / the concert / the area / the venue etc. and it brings life into these recordings.

Saw them on this tour in the States, opening for Ratt, they were perfect in every way. Saw them two years later, with Cinderella opening for them, they were terrible. Jon had blown his vocal cord completely already at that point. Really was never at this level ever again on stage.

That's where you're wrong. Bon Jovi were the best live band from 1993-1996, completely untouchable. You could make a case for periods during 2000-2011 as well

I think I must be one of the only diehards who doesn’t care for Tokyo road, or much off of Fahrenheit. I love hardest part is the night but that’s about it for me. Only lonely and in and out of love r decent IMO too but nothing amazing

Fahrenheit was my least favorite album for sure. Didn't even include in my collection when I went to CDs. You ROCK!
@aprilschumann31624 жыл бұрын
I LOVE the cheesiness of the album. It was a bunch of break up songs cause they all had a bad breakup during that time. It’s prob one of my favorite eras too bc he tried so hard to impress and entertain the crowd.
@mikestagnone54794 жыл бұрын
April Schumann I can’t put my finger on why but I never loved the songs. I don’t care too too much about lyrics, I care far more about the vocals and the instruments, but I guess Fahrenheit just never struck the right chord for me. I do like some of the shows from that era too. They sounded so good. They were hungry for the fame they got in slippery and I think JBJ put in more effort live back then

I think with the first two albums, it's pretty much black and white amongst Jovi fans. You either seem to love them and think they were the biggest thing since sliced bread and the "real Bon Jovi" or you can't really get into them. When I around 15 and discovering the band album by album, I liked their debut a lot. Still love Shot Through The Heart. Fahrenheit isn't bad in terms of song writing and there's some inspired playing by Richie, but the production always felt so dated. I also like some tunes like The Hardest Part Is The Night and Silent Night a lot, but I mostly listen to them live and skip the album as well.
