Amazing! You have wonderfully captured each and every moment of the festival. The climax was damn touching, people departing with tears in their eyes. May this brotherhood prevail till infinity.
@indiainmotion7 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. The best thing about the festival for me was seeing the camaraderie between the people. On the downside the new generation doesn't seem to be as interested in the proceedings as the older people. All the young kids were bummed when they heard that the orchestra on the second evening was cancelled.

@indiainmotion7 жыл бұрын
Your 11 year old probably has a better financial sense than me. But in all seriousness, I don't want to commercialize these things any more than I already do with my videos. These festivals will never be the same if you have hundreds of tourists milling around shoving their cameras at the faces of all these villagers.
@beerhabit99447 жыл бұрын
India In Motion very true Saravana, tourism impacts heavily in many facets and distorts the essence and way of life of the people and the environment in which they live. My son is yet to discover the beauty of solitude! Respect to you for bringing these experiences into our homes.

I don't now how this video came before me while surfing the U-Tube. Really wonderful video and you have shooted it like a commercial photographer. I want to add that I visited Nessang in 1980 to attend this unique festival- The Fulaych ( Ukhyaang) of Kinnaur at my friend sh. ST Negi and his wife Mrs Anita Negi, who is village Pardhan from last more than 15 years and a renowned personality. I attended this festival right from its start to the last moment. It is an awesome festival and people who are employed outside Kinnaur try to be part of this festival and manage their presence. It has revived my old memories. At that time Satluj used to be crossed through "JHOOLA" bridge system and road was very narrow and troublesome. Thanks for your contribution in preserving our National heritage. Gian, Ambala now at Beas (Amritsar)

how much time it took to reach the temple and then come back? It is such a rough way.. were you able to walk at ease like the locals? These deities doesnt have any face, i saw something similar in Kulu.. they also have festival where they carry gods on such bamboos and travel such a long distance.... so different and beautiful!
@indiainmotion7 жыл бұрын
It took between 2 to 3 hours each way. The deities do have faces. Ormic Shu has some 18 faces if I'm right. Most of the Kullu Devtas have faces as well and they are not hidden under the long matted hair like here.
@indiainmotion7 жыл бұрын
Lol, the locals all compliment me on how easily I was able to walk on this terrain just like them. Seriously, these are some of the easiest trails you'll find in the mountains.

I would say that the chances of getting attacked by wild animals in these parts is as much as being stuck by lightning. The chance is there but it is extremely extremely rare.

@indiainmotion7 жыл бұрын
The slowmo shots were actually 120fps and I speeded up some shots later to 60fps while editing the final video. Everything was shot using the same lens. The 12-60” f2.8 to f4 kit lens that came with my camera. Auto focus doesn’t work during slowmo, so some of them would be a touch out of focus.
