I live in the neighborhood across the street, and was also an early customer. They are such nice people, and the food is amazing. This has been our go to BBQ since they opened, partly due to proximity, but mostly due to it being _excellent_ food.

It’s all about the details. Attention to details will make you great. Hearing him talk about pre-heating wood to take the moisture out and light faster makes me think they are big on the details. I gotta try this place

His pricing is way too kind which is great for his community, but I watched a few episodes of "Food Truck Race" and selling a loaded fried rice for under $10 is wild, and with brisket at 11.25 is also jaw dropping. Like on that show 18 for rice and 25 for the brisket rice would be expected... at least. 7:29

Just like the other dude in the comments said, if you live in the area, you just KNOW. Even Kansas City (thats known for its own type of BBQ) arguably the BEST BBQ is Joe's, it's a gas station...I feel like in the south you have certain unassuming places that look like they serve the same roadway garbage, just for it to have the best BBQ, soul food, or fried chicken you ever had.

I’ll have to take my daughter and son in-law here. My son in-law is half Vietnamese. I’ve been eating Vietnamese food longer than him! 😆 We worked with Vietnamese community off of Allen Parkway back in the 80’s. They have done very well. One of the little girls was named Phong. Cute.
