I remember the Bond Minicar. As a boy I thought they were quirky and cool but my motor-mechanic father was always dissing them. I found out why when one of them stalled in traffic right in front of us back in the mid 60's. The driver had to get out, open the bonnet and quickly kick-start the motor cycle-derived engine back into life before getting back in and driving off again.

The 'no rust' claim was a complete fallacy; these cars still had metal chassis, whose eventual welding often entailed removal of the body.
