@@dn6576 especially from all different parts in the world where it’s not as frowned upon for men to do as they please. Not saying it’s okay, but It’s ironic cause when foreigners go to stricter countries and do something wrong by mistake that’s allowed in their home country the government of the country they’re visiting throws the book at them and says “there’s no excuse to break the law” are the same people who go to other countries and are outraged when they’re arrested or accused of sexual harassment/abuse because in their country that’s “flirting”. @@hugh_mungus0184 not saying it’s okay that your friend got assaulted but in Egypt women who aren’t covered head to toe are basically seen as prostitutes. Personally I just wouldn’t go to a country like this out of fear of harassment. But that’s what happens when countries look at women as property. You can’t really do anything when you go to a country known for men taking advantage of women because their justice system won’t see a problem with it. I sure as hell wouldn’t walk alone anywhere without a man I trust from home in a place like that.

When I was a kid, some old guy slapped me on the bum. It creeped me out so much that I started to only enter the water with my father close by. Doesn't sound like much of an incident, but even today, I sometimes recall that incident thinking "Why are people doing this?" Can't imagine how victims feel that were forced to experience worse.

I can tell you that when someone gropes you underwater, it is terrifying. I was 10 years old swimming at a very busy and crowded river and my mom was on the bridge overlooking the river. I wanted to show her that I could swim all the way across. When I was 3/4 of the way across, a man grabbed me by the crotch from behind, and pulled me under. I kicked and screamed till I got free, and he continued to swim towards me. I panicked and try to climb up the rocks at the bank, I slipped and tore my thigh open on a sharp rock. I was crying and so upset when I got out of the water and the blood was everywhere. People rushed to help me, and I looked behind me and he was already on the other side of the river, running away. My mom wasn’t watching me anyway, and didn’t believe my truth. I will never forget that day, I’ve been afraid of lone men ever since.

I live right by a beach that can get pretty crowded at times due to tourists, but I still like to walk down to the beach to chill. Something I do when swimming is dive into waves, and I wear goggles while I do it, and the goggles I wear are black because it gets bright out and they help, and yeah it's hard to see from them sometimes due to them fogging up, plus my eyesight is pretty bad and super blurry (I don't wear prescription goggles despite that fact that I should.)
