Let your legs do the work when you are stuck. I made a 6" wide leather "belt" (to protect from rope burn and distribute the force) that I wrap around my waist, when needed; I glued small magnets to both ends for easy on/off. Unhook your rope from the rail and wrap around the "belt." I work alone so I also have a pulley system as well as a come-along. Because the come-along is ratcheted, I can lift a scooter by myself. BTW, I am 65 years old.

A possible reason those scooter frames are so far out is that, there have been an older bridge, where the frames are, that was recently replaced by the bridge you’re currently on.

Just an idea for the really heavy stuff... When Neil from Sludge Pirates gets his magnet stuck or has something super heavy, he wraps the rope around his hips and uses his whole body to pull. It gives him a lot more leverage than just his arm muscles.

Really loved the vibes in the Videos. Funny , " lets have a tea break ". Scooters get stolen for the parts, for the frame you need the paper work to insure the bike because the VIN number is on it. You can't scrap the frame either , because you need the paper work. So they get dumped in the rivers.

awesome video, all kinds of finds! something you could try: when you head out to a new spot, put your gopro on a rope and drop it in for a little look-see BEFORE you get things stirred up with the magnet. i realize many things are sunken into the mud, but you can get a general idea of the bottom and possible obstacles if the water isn't too murky.
