@@Streamcatcher That license plate isn't a license plate. Prior to 2005 we used insurance plates which looked like a license plate. On the bottom left there should been the year of insurance, but there is a big thumb over it ;) That means that the Vespas has been down there for minimal 15 years.

Vandals throw them in or random people accidentally throw them in. A thief steals a bike, rides it, throws it in the canal after he reaches his destination. Lazy people not wanting to take it to the garbage. Those are probably the main reasons.

That pink scooter was so cool!! If I was the owner I'd be mad if i saw it in that condition. When I buy things especially in my favourite colour pink, I love them and to have someone just throw it away I'd find upsetting. Can't believe how many bikes you found!! Ramon... here in California he would have answered... Si? Love the treasures like the hinge and the toy truck. Why don’t they ever clean the canals? Aren’t they ever dredged and all the trash removed? Somewhere they shut down a canal, drained or pumped all the water out and removed all the trash like bikes, safes, shopping carts and motorcycles. Ahh, but they didn’t have nearly as much fun as you guys do! Love yer stuff!! Keep posting!!!!

It's amazing how close the doors are to the water on those buildings in your last 2 minutes of filming. Does the level of the water ever rise and flood the buildings?

It seems that somewhere along the Schie there was a barracks before the war. To prevent the Germans from getting their hands on material, they threw everything into the water

The Vespa Ciao was produced between 1968-1982 even in that rotting condition cleaned up for parts could fetch anything from £500-1200 - they are pretty vintage and rare now restored late ones sell for £1000-£2000 in the uk. What did you do with it? pink too- seems ultra rare bondi 😬😬

All the bikes you find ! Ever find any of the corpses ? And do any of the cars fall in the canal because they park so close ? I've been magnet fishing since the mid 90's . Lots of good finds . Once found a Spanish cannon off of the 1715 fleet here in America off the Fla. Coast . Was in about 15 ft . of water at low tide . We dove down to it but couldn't move it . It's still there , so we marked it . Have fun and watch the Crocs . Your good friend Vinny in good old Fla.

Omg you got a ciao scooter!! It was super popular in Italy in the '70/'80 I think. If I'm not mistaken you have to start cycling before turning on the engine. So cool!!!
