Thank you for showing the sad side of vet practices. I lost a cat after complications from surgery. Her vet was audibly upset when he called to tell me.its important to see that vets have compassion and empathy for not just the animals but their humans as well.

When my cat passed away, I wrote my vet a letter thanking her for 17 years of care. She left me a voicemail thanking ME for the letter, and I could tell she was crying. She said, “this is why I get up in the morning and do what I do.” I’ll never forget that!

I know how it feels to have an animal not wake up from surgery. I had my cat not wake up from being spayed. It was my brother's birthday and she had to leave early in the morning so my dad brought her in and it was a standard procedure so I didn't even wake up to tell her goodbye. I still feel guilty about that

God I feel for Lucky's owner. My cat loves to disassemble anything she puts her paws on. She bloodly taught herself to open cabinet, the box I keep meds in and the box that box is in. It never occured to her to eat them at least but I have no guarantee she won't ever try, and that's terrifying. If anyone has ideas to stop her apart of a literral lock on the cabinet, I'd take it, because I'm starting to run out of ideas and apparently all the puzzles in the world aren't enough to distract her

This is the third or fourth video where I've seen Roxy's story, and it just hits every time that the film crew never expects to lose power, so they probably don't have set lights to put up since the facilities are always so well-lit. It's always such a moment of surprised relief and wonder at how quick the staff can think around a situation that they just go for their cell phones to get lights back on the table.

Gosh I still remember when we were fostering this little baby boy named Morc. He was a feral cat that needed rehabilitation but when we bought him in for a regular vet checkup they found out he had a blocked urinary tract and we couldn’t give him treatment due to him not letting people handle him. He was put down after only being with us for a week or so, I miss you Morc. In the end we were his forever home but we didn’t know until it was over 💔

I adopted an emaciated Great Dane. He ended up having IMHC and a few other issues. After seven months his labs were adequate to neuter him. We had to do it due to issues he was having. I was allowed to watch the surgery. He did great! He did great in recovery. I was two blocks from the clinic to pick him up when the vet called to say he had just died. It was such a shock to the vet that when she was told he was "gone" she asked how he got out since he was in a kennel. I walked in and the front desk staff hadnt heard yet. They had him on a blanket for me to say goodbye. He was still warm. I still take comfort that we did everything possible for him. I still love and miss him. I've had three more rescue Danes since I lost him.

Danes are so special! I will never forget the heartache of losing my first-Clyde- he was my soulmate. We rescued Cleopatra-Cleo-a few years later as a 4 month old puppy. She tragically passed from a bleeding disorder that made her bleed out internally while I held her in my arms and my husband raced to the ER vet. We now have our girl Legacy and she is healing my heart in ways I couldn’t imagine. Healing hugs to you, how lucky we are to have know(n) the love of a Dane!

Dr. Scott, I cried with you after Badger died. When my 13-year-old miniature dachshund, Tinkerbelle, had to have surgery and died on the table, I comforted my vet, telling him I knew he did everything he could to save her. Then when I hung up the phone, my tears flowed. The hurt of losing a pet is universal.

To think that some people have the nerve to deliberately poison other people’s pets really infuriates me!! 😡🤬🤬 I just don’t understand why anyone would do such a cruel thing! The owner of that poor cat was so distraught and angry. She also stated clearly that there was no way the cat had gotten the paracetamol from her or anyone she knew. I found my little old lady Bichon abandoned in the snow (apparently for 3 weeks before she would accept to come home with anyone). She wasn't spayed which I had done later and of course had already met and mated - she gave me a beautiful baby (only one). She was blind and over time became deaf as well.. She started to have great pain after eating so I took her to the vet. I knew in my heart that her quality of life was no longer good and I knew the vet would say the same which she did. I sat in the waiting room trying not to cry and cuddling her. A sweet lady came over to me to ask me why I was crying - I told her the story and then broke down completely - she put her arms around me and whispered kind words. I walked back home with an empty lease and a hole in my heart. I have had to put down 5 of my animals (all of a great age). I now have 3 rescue cats - can't live without animals in my home.

Need a backup generator for when the lights go out. That way you'll have your machines working. So glad you were able to save the dog. So sad that the cat and dog didn't make it through their operations. I have lost several dogs in my lifetime and the last one died this pass September. She was 17 years.old and my dead younger sister's dog. She went to the Rainbow Bridge when we were dog napping. She was buried on my niece's farm. I still miss her as she was so sweet and beautiful. Maybe some day my brother and I can get another puppy but right now we still have his dog and mine. Happy trails to you and God bless.
