I have seen this done. I am wondering is the same method I use for resin prints would work. We use UV resin, resin powder (essentially sanded resin collected as dust), add those and mix till we get a nice past consistency. We can then apply that and and cure each layer we add, and keep adding and sanding. It works good for layer lines, seeming, and filling holes and gaps.

I have tried the resin powder method and honestly prefer this method instead.

That non catalyzed spot putty is so weak, I'd be worried about long term adhesion to a flexible substrate like plastic. Interesting idea though, I wonder how well it would work with regular 2 part bondo.

Where you got the technique from - www.youtube.com/@Darkwingdad Also, anyone trying this wear PPE, that includes a respirator rated for VOC's.

what filament do you use for this? is this standard pla? i know you can vapor smooth abs and asa with acetone. this is so neat and im actually about to start some FNAF helmets myself. i figured pla wouldnt hold up for constant wearing due to temp warpage being outside. Thanks!

Hey! And yes i just use standard pla+ from either sunlu or amazon basics. I have had great success with both.
