Please favor questions where the couple asking for a spitball has less than 6-12 million dollars. Many of us listen for guidance, and it's ridiculous when the scenario asks whether or not they can float $21k/ month on luxury travel. Love the show but it is slowly becoming geared only towards Thurston Howell III.

I just buy MYGA's from A+ companies on the peaks when the rates go above 5%. I have a bunch at 5.5% for 5 years. Good tax deferral, 10% free withdrawals.

Thanks for watching and sharing your strategy. Hopefully you've got it mapped out to account for future taxation and how the MYGAs fit with your overall asset mix.

@@YourMoneyYourWealth Yes, doing roth conversions each year especially with the Trump tax rates as low as they are. I built a 2 million portfolio using bonds and MYGA only! Now that I have **safely** landed the retirement with 5+% conservative investments, I will use strategic investing for my **excess cash** in long term tax efficient capital gains investments. PS I have never paid an AUM fee. No one ever should.

Two years in money market? Bonds suck on yield.

I agree that SS is longevity insurance and you will know if delaying was the right choice but you won’t know if it was the wrong choice because you will be dead. I plan on delaying but hedging with life insurance. If I live a long time I win on SS but the cash value will be lower as some of it paid for the cost of life insurance so my heirs get less of a death benefit but it’s offset by getting more from the brokerage account because I spent less of that account due to more expenses being covered by SS. If I die sooner than expected I get less from SS but that didn’t change my lifestyle and my heirs get the life insurance plus the brokerage account which I didn’t spend down because I passed away.
