I'm actually waiting to get the scan done, after having the tracer injected. I had a PET scan for my prostate and they saw something near my right shoulder blade. Only symptom was a rising PSA 14 years after brachytherapy. Hoping for the best for everyone undergoing this procedure.

I had a third PET scan on Monday. My process was similar, though waited 45 minutes after the tracing injection, and scan took about 25 minutes. They used a mold to keep my arms fixed over my head and my feet still. I removed my glasses so I didn’t notice a plate coming near my face. They didn’t have a separate rib scan. I got my results online the following day. I had my oncologist appointment today so he uses the PET scan along with my cancer marker reading as well as my input on my wellbeing. For now, I’ll stay with my treatment plan and do another scan in 3 months with monthly blood tests. Two hints- take the blanket and use the toilet right before the scan. You’ve got to stay perfectly still, similar to radiation. All the best

I'm having mines tomorrow, same as you, I need to have my eyes closed, if I see this I will get into a panic attack. I did an mri onced went in with my eyes closed and in about a minute or so, stated screaming and made them take me out. They gave me another appointment and on that one I came in dosed, had to be medicated, took some clonopin, and slept it out. But I'm so scared now seeing how close to the face it got. Uff!! Nervous as hell!!😢
