A lot of the time I will give the proud new owner of Hi-Zoot customized zippkit time to run their saw for "a bit" before posting videos.
It was a bit windy on this day. A few times the dusts did drown out the dialog. I therefore edited out some of the blasts. This segment did lose a little of the explanation but I do think that the overall meaning is retained.
Thankfully, nobody hit the deck that day.
As mentioned, this was the 1st time I had these two in stock form in my shop at the same time. They were as close to the same amount of run time as you can get with just a few heat cycles on both.
I found the power differential to be quite interesting between these two saws. The 362 is all “on the pipe” topend. Whereas the 620 is more of an old school lowend grunter. I’ve never been a “phan” of the newer, all up top, power band machines that some companies are producing currently.
These two are pound different on the scales in dry and wet trim.
I sure wish that the bar studs were at least the 9mm diameter of all the latest 60cc & up pro version Husqvarna saws.
Looking at the timed runs:
Echo 620 at 12,660 wot went 7.95 down and 8.35 up
Stihl 362 at 13,620 wot went 7.90 down and 7.55 up
So at ~ 1000 less in rpms the 620 took about the same to get through the cuts. The feel telescoped to the handle bars & pistol grip is one of more lowend. I imagine that if the 620 was spun up another 500 rpms it would have bested the 362, stock for stock.
At the time of your viewing this, I may, or may not, be immediately available for custom saw modifications. Most of the time I am booked months in advance. If you are interested in a Saw Shop Makeover for one of your mo-chines, please shoot me an email. That is the best, 1st point of contact.

The 620PW in the video has been an amazing saw for me. It’s my first Echo and my first time working with Jack. In conversations with Jack I told him I wanted to run a 28” bar and have a some what of a utility saw (good for alittle bit of everything). Boy did he deliver! I have a ton of run time on it at this point. It has been dead reliably and a solid performer. *For you nerds it likes to run at 13.5-14k rpm and a 28” full comp chain. Oh and put a foam air cleaner on it, much better then the stock one.

Wonderful session Mr. Jack. In stock form the Stihl 362 oiler is lacking. Nothing that the 461 oiler or the internals won't cure. The Echo 620 oils very well in stock form. It would/will be neat to see the Husqvarna 562 join in....
@hotsaws101

Brian hi. I have run 32" of chain on stock 362 oilers. I never really noticed where it was seriously lacking. But, the chains were blowing chips not dust. Could they push a little better, definitely. I have noticed where the output on the Sthil saws has been a bit on the low side when compared to a similar Husqvarna model. That started with the 064 in '84. I have to wonder if some of the operators experiencing oiler problems are doing so because the chains are pulling more dust than chips. "Saw dust" sucks up bar oil like nobody's business. Thanks for watching.

@@hotsaws101 I have done this mod several times on 361/362 series, more lube helps on smaller displacement saws. You are very correct on the dust vs. chip scenario. +1 on the Husqvarna oilers. I have one of these 620s, great saw. They just flat out rip. Especially if you gut the internals of the muffler, weld shut the stock opening and then make either one big one off the front corner, or as I did dual 3/4 inch pipes off the front corners. But it definitely is a bit chunky. No real difference in weight between it and my 7900 dolmar.

Prices go up daily. No way to tell what they cost "right this second". Individual dealer markup plays a part there as well. You would have to research it locally. The 620 will be noticeably less. They have a different kind of power. The 362 is all on top. The 620 has some lowend. The 362 weigh 1 pound less. Both dry & wet. No way for me to tell which saw feels better in hand to you. That requires you to fondle. Probably could get more of your money back if needed to sell with a Stihl. You never mentioned which bar length. The 620 will be better balanced the longer the bar. If you buy the 362, get some H1-R from Bel-Ray. In fact, either. Best of luck, happy sawing, and thanks for watching.

The 362 is one of STIHLs failures. After numerous tests with newer saws in the 60cc class, the 362 came in last everytime. Echo really dominates the 60cc class. It's a shame how many people see the name STIHL on a saw and instantly say it's better than everything else. The 362 is an example of a turd created by STIHL. I know entirely too many people that have sold their 362's and went with the 620p. The 620 is hands down the better of the two.
