I still do conventional convertions... Its just for temporary till they heal from surgery....thats when we start to work for the final prosthesis. Great work Dr...

good morning from Argentina. Thanks for this video. When you are in meshmixer with the two models, what about if you put combine and clear facegroup? I think that in this other way you don´t lose accuarecy. Thank you very much

Hi. Very informative video Dr.Cory. Can you tell me what is the White coloured material used inside the gray coloured 3d printed model at 2:32:03? Thank you

2:15:29 Instead of modifying the tooth chain in BSP to get "as close as possible" to the scan appliance, why not just keep the EXACT denture design from the scan appliance? Cory references this limitation at 2:16:11. We already have an STL of the ideal tooth setup so designing a whole new denture in BSP takes time and seems redundant, not to mention paying an additional export fee for the denture. Here's an easier way to accomplish a quick, free, and perfect duplicate prosthesis all in meshmixer. It might seem long to see it typed out in the comment below, but trust me it's much faster and easier than building a whole new denture in BSP. 1) Begin by creating the 3mm offset that Cory does at 2:11:25, except I I would select a smaller area of that model to offset in the first place, only using the area I anticipate will be the final borders of the hybrid prosthesis (similar to where he selects at 2:17:30). 2) Export your scan appliance denture out of BSP (you already have the STL, but remember you aligned that model to the jaw in BSP so it's orientation and relation to other objects is vital). Import this to meshmixer. 3) Turn on the magnet icon on the 3mm offset object you created so you can visualize how far to delete the flanges of your denture. Select any areas of the denture that extend beyond the 3mm offset and delete them. There may be areas of the original denture intaglio to also delete. This should leave a "hollow shell" of your original denture. 4) Deselect the magnet icon of the 3mm offset, then hold CONTROL and select both the 3mm offset object and the hollow denture object, then select COMBINE in the upper left. 5) Select the borders of the 3mm offset part (SELECT TOOL size 10-12 brush size double click blue edge), expand the ring if necessary (SHIFT >), smooth border (click "B" on your keyboard). Then do the same on the hollow denture half's blue border. This will create facegroups of different colors along the border of the two halves. 6) Now use SELECT tool (set the size pretty small) and double click each half's new border facegroup. Both halves should have their border selected in orange, now click "J" on your keyboard to JOIN them. Then while it's still selected hit CTRL "F" to smooth the transition area (In the upper left turn the "smoothness" slider scale up near the max). 7) Use the sculpt tools to smooth out any surface defects you still wish to alter (since this was a scan appliance you'll need to smooth off fiduciary markers), and you can perform any digital festooning you desire. See Wally Renne's KZbin video on creating a denture in meshmixer for some tips on digital festooning. You're done. This should create a solid prosthesis EXACTLY like your original denture, except the intaglio has been replaced with the contours of your 3mm offset from the bone reduction. Perfect esthetics and occlusion. Proceed with the rest of the steps Cory outlines for Boolean subtraction of the pickup holes on this model. Yes you have more steps in meshmixer, but it really isn't very hard, and it will save you a TON of time re-designing the entire denture in the BSP denture module just to get close. I'm not knocking Cory's method or BSP denture module at all, Cory is like a Digital Dental God in my eyes and BSP has been a gamechanger for me, but during the lecture I thought this would be a more efficient and accurate method and best of all it's free!

Great observation........yes you can do that. It just requires more work in MM to remove the flanges and make the underside ovate which I find most people struggle with

I have a bone disease which causes excess bone growth and tumours all over my body, so I have the opposite problem I have to much bone and one dentist wants to shave it down the other doesn’t want to do that before I get dentures, but I’m reluctant to do so bcos sometimes trauma on a bone can make it grow worse, the denture guy said it would be really thin if he could even make it at all. So r there many health issues or complications related to getting gums shaved down cause I’m a big scaredy-cat and don’t know what to do, so thank u very much for reading and have a great day thanks

This was great, thanks, been searching for "how to stop tooth decay from spreading" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Nelevi Gapify Elimination - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my mate got cool success with it.

Dr Cory, from your experience is it possible that swapping the guides and reinsertion of the fixation pins, will widen the pin osteotomy and decreases the accuracy of the surgery?? Does the stackable guide have that advantage??
