What people should know is this tool is, [EDIT - useless] kind of pointless, if you using bearing spacers. the chamfer on the bearing and spacer are too fine to allow the puller bearing ball to lock behind the bearing to pull it OUT....

Correct i didnt no this at the time. To bad mine broke after a few days the steel insert with the balls in it slipped out the white T handle.

Not useless, but rather only 50% effective when removing a bearing if you use spacers. You pull out one bearing by some other means, then use the bearing tool to pull out the other. It is also still effective when inserting a bearing.

@@malcolmandfeliciabiles5829 I did mention 'if you using bearing spacers.' ;)... ...sure, but then you may as well pull the 2nd bearing out with the same method as the 1st... no point.. Make no mistake, it is a gorgeous looking tool man, I (still) have 2. ( men n' their tools aye.. )

@@SheriffHortixoon I'm glad I read this! I'll just carry on using an Allen key to push bearings out like I have for years. I spose this should still help for fitting bearings which isn't usually an issue, but I'm thinking of trying out some new aluminium core wheels and I've heard they're a pain in the backside. Thanks!

The bearing tool is a must for me. I pack it right next to my skate tool.

The thing is , if you use your axles to pull out the bearings - it can (sometimes) wear out the threads on the axle. But i’m currently also using my axles.. And if you’re using spacers it can be quite hard to get them out, to say the least.

For pushing the bearings in, it seems like the design of the tool isn't the greatest. One would think it would be better to push the bearing in using the outer piece of metal, rather than the inner one. I use a 5/8" socket with a socket wrench, which happens to be just the right size. I set the wheel on the floor. I get the bearing started. Then, line up the socket on top of it and push it in with that.

Yeah, and possibly damage the bearing in the process because you need to pry it an an angle

Problem is. Bearings do NOT come out that easy, and the tool slips out of the bearing easily

This pulls bearings and pushes them back in. Your truck threads get all fucked up doing this. The bearings have hardened steel races. The truck isn't hardened on thr threads. Put side load on the threads and you mash them.. Why create new issues

This tool is useless if you have spacers fitted......the ball bearings cannot eject behind the inner bearing core when you push in cos the spacer is butted up against it.....rendering the tool useless, great if you don't rock spacers but you should be.....

Man that thing sucks. Only works if your not using spacers. Waste of money, just use your truck
