I hope people see this post cuz I gotta say Sticker Steve is right on the $$$. Get the X formula 97. I just got a set and skated the ground in my area like I normally do. I was pushing around with ease like I was on the Dragons. To me they feel only a smidge harder than the Powell Dragon 93A wheels. I can use these wheels pretty much anywhere. Also imo they X Formula 97 feel softer than the Ricta 95A with the crystal cores, OJ 95A Nomads and the NFG MFG 95A wheels. I'm super happy with these Bones wheels.

I actually just got these x97’s in a 56mm I slapped on my cruiser set up to make it a bowl board. Cant wait to try them out. But honestly I am so used to the dragon wheels now and love them so much I am not gonna stop skating them. They are super nice feeling on the joints yet still perform just fine pretty much everywhere besides really smooth concrete where they have just a little too much grip but I can def deal with it. In my opinion they really are the perfect all around wheel for my type of skating.

Me and a buddy of mine had dragons for 8 months. I feel like it wore down kinda fast but we ended up getting them again. They just feel so nice and smooth. Spitfires sound so loud to me now. Haven't tried the bones x formula yet though. When I start making money again I'm gonna cop a pair and see. So far Dragons have been my fav

Yeah the dragons are nice. Definitely give the x formula a shot if you like the dragon's. I'm liking em more than the dragon's. They were just a little too soft for me. Thanks for checkin out the video!

Nice, real and honest review. That car wear test on that other skating channel is just lame to me. The crappy ground I gotta skate on the 93A Dragons work for me. If I ever see these on sale or if I get to a skatepark more often then I'll get these. Love that CKY shirt.
@stickersteve0072 жыл бұрын
thanks dude. yeah i liked the dragons as well, but these seemed to close the gap a little bit more on the spitfiires i was use to. And the cKy shirt is vintage haha probably 20 years old. had it since high school

I prefer x formula over dragons. I skate street and transition and they work for both. I also skate 52mm. Best all around wheel I’ve found. Extra grippy for bowls, doesn’t slide unless you want it to, great on smooth and rough concrete. There’s one park in my state that I absolutely LOVE. But it’s soooo slippery. Couldn’t find a wheel that I could skate it on, until I got sent these as an experimental wheel from skate one. (Thanks guys). I’ll never go back.

Not trying these personally. The Dragons make real crust rideable and even comfortable but still feels like a trick wheel. If I know I’m going to be skating smoother ground I’d rather just have a proper non hybridy wheel. Thanks for the review!

Since now we are in the narrow spectrum of durometer differences: anyone with experience comparing Bones X to OJ Elite Nomad (95a)?
@l.j.i Жыл бұрын
Haven't tried Bones X (so I guess this comment is kind of useless right now), but Elite Nomads are my favourite wheels ever. They are so smooth and feel buttery but also powerslide great and aren't sticky on coping. I want to get the X-formulas next, so I'll update to give a comparison of the two when I do.
@TheReal_DeanD Жыл бұрын
For me the Bones X97 feel a bit softer than the 95A OJ Nomad wheels on the rough concrete I gotta skate. Haven’t tested sliding though. Also if you already have the Nomads I wouldn’t go out and buy the Bones 97x formula Unless you had to replace existing wheels. They’re close.

One thing I wanted to know about these 97X compare to SFF4 99A/101A on smooth surfaces is how fast are they compare to SFF4 99A/101A? Slower like Dragons or about the same speed on smooth surfaces as SFF4 99A/101A?
@stickersteve0072 жыл бұрын
I'd say they are a tad slower then SFF4. but not as slow as dragon wheels on smooth surfaces. Idk about wood though. I'm judging from a smooth concrete skatepark

@@stickersteve007 thanks for the info and good to know, heard they are coming out with a 99X and 95X, would be interesting to see if they did how the 99X (aka 99A Dragons) compare to SFF4 99A...

Great review new sub to your channel, what would you say these X97 is best for? I don't have them yet, but I think Dragons are a better wheel buy for anything rough surface like asphalt, downhill, rough street, cruising and rough dyi parks. Are these best for rough parks and bowls for the slightly better grip at 97A vs SFF4 99A, street tech skating, and I heard they are great for wood ramp surfaces (Mason lite, skatelite) due to the extra grip? How fast are they on smooth concrete surfaces like skatepark vs SFF4 99A? Also are they definitely a better 97A wheel vs SFF4 97A and the STF 99A?
@stickersteve0072 жыл бұрын
I'd imagine they're great for wood park's because wood parks can be slippery. For nice smooth concrete park's I'd probably still prefer a 99A, but these felt totally fine at my local concrete park. I haven't tried the other wheels you mentioned so I can't really compare.

if the only reason for going with softer wheels so that it's less punishing on the body, I'd rather go with FP insoles and skate harder wheels, best of both worlds really.
