A quick rough and rudimentary navigation tip is this; If the sun is relatively high in the sky the shadows will point roughly north, since the midday sun will always be to our south in the northern hemisphere. Later in the day the sun will move westward, and morning it will be eastward.

Not really… the only real deal waterproof backpacks are dry bags and they’re highly specialized. The most important thing you could have learned from this video is to carry a standard backpack every day because that’s the only way you will have the items discussed in this video when SHTF… being waterproof is an issue as discussed in the video due to the waterproof backpack cover that can easily be deployed when needed. I would highly recommend watching again. I think you will greatly benefit from the information shared here.
