This is my favorite song of Boney James, hands down. My dad played this for me when I was about 10 years old, and I've been playing ever since. I remember going to the Blue Note jazz fest, and he was there, and I was on my way to the restroom. As soon as I heard this, I turned around 😅

Worked in Nijmegen (nl) at that time. We had JFK a jazz station at that time. Coverage wasn’t in the whole country. Checked only at our office manager time to time it wasn’t played every hour. Around 4pm noticed i had approx 20min to get into reception area. Said bye must go now. What a time and what a song. Best however, my then girlfriend helped me get the cd from the record shop close to her work. Didn’t work out as hoped. Probably this engraved this forever in my soul. Restroom and turn back. We have same feeling for this lifetime song. Take care !

I had the distinct pleasure of watching this young brother at Cody's on the tenth floor in Houston and his last performance there as he announced that this would be his last gig,as he had claimed a record deal and I am selfish enough to admit that I hated to share him with you all. Kirk, one Love my brother.

This is THE pinnacle of contemporary jazz. No saxophonist in contemporary jazz does it better than Boney.
@rachiellejenkins4999 Жыл бұрын
First, your challenge was vulgar and unnecessary. Does all public discourse have to be savage. I was going to tell you to check our Michael Lington, and Richard Elliot. And apparently you know nothing of Basin street jazz, or fusion jazz, Ronnie Laws, Jeff Lorber. And while BJ is excellent, the late Grover Washington would be hard to beat !
@no_country_for_real_men Жыл бұрын
@@rachiellejenkins4999 another ignorant arrogant american. I am familiar with all of them and the fact that you are comparing pianist to saxophonist shows how ignorant you are and you clearly did not comprehend my post. I am a musician of decades and I am familiar with jazz that goes back to the 1920s so spare me your narcissism. If you disagree with my comment than that's your distorted opinion. If you are offended by my comment than it means the truth is offensive. The next time you want to start a debate make sure you're comparing apples to apples instead of oranges to coconuts that way you won't stick your foot in your mouth.
