Hi K-granny! The white on the trail is sand, it did look like salt. The trees are oak or cedar trees. As per google they can live up to 80-150 years. We saw lots of trees on the island and they are being washed away during high tide or hurricane. Everytime we go to the island, the driftwoods look different. And the black rocks were formed from the last ice age. Interestingly amazing. Thanks for watching.😊
