I am happy to have grown up listening to the likes of Bongos Ikwue. Music as he said, had a lot of soul in the 70s and 80s. That is why a Bob Marley song will command great attention even though he has been dead nearly 40 years now. Today's music is empty and bereft of meaning and soul. As an instrumentalist myself, I find it hard to listen to today's music. Listen to Ikwue's theme song for Cock Crow At Dawn. A classic anyday. Another thing? These guys were hardcore, detribalized nationalists.

Nice to know that this legend is still alive and kicking ,it would have being nice if he played just song for us ,and all media houses in Nigeria could just celebrate this legend one day by playing his music ,rather than filling the air waves with his music the day he passes on ,just like they have always done.

Absolute pleasure to watch and listen to Bongos Ikwue, his creativity, his logic, he is extremely sharp and mentally sound! Great knowledge on display at the interview! He is an intellectual, above all else that he has been and above all else that he has achieved in show business etc

Nice to see you again Bongos. It's been a long time. Good luck and let the music start rolling again. The last time I listen to you live was at the University of Lagos Auditorium in the seventies. It was fantastic.

Where did u address Mariam babangida issue in this interview anybody that knows should give me the exact minutes ..
@adenchiadenchi86914 жыл бұрын
The interview is divided into three parts. He addressed the question in the second part when he was asked whether his song titled 'Maryami' was written for Babangida's wife and that there were rumours they were romantically linked. He denied it and said he only ever met her once in her lifetime.
