One of the best bands ever. Jon used to come into my dad’s deli right before he hit it big. Memories of those days and how he rose to stardom will always be with me. Fun to see my kids enjoy 80’s music more than anything other music . We grew up in a special time. 🥹

I've been a fan of Bon Jovi since I was in 11th grade in 1984 when they released the first album. I've had the pleasure of seeing this group evolve through time and this song still hits me like a train. It reminds me of when I met my wife and the hardship we had building our life. It wasn't supposed to be but we came together as if a spotlight was beaming down on us. I truly believe God has plans for us and although we don't see them or know what they are, it's truly a blessing when what you always wanted comes through the door. I've been married 22 years and she doesn't feel like my wife, she still feels like my girlfriend. I listen to this song and all that fire and emotion still exists. That's when you know God's plan comes together. There is somebody out there for everyone, sometimes you just have to stop looking so hard and the rest of your life will walk right up to you.

Whenever I watch this video, my mind is cast back to December 1988, just before Christmas. I was a seventeen year old huge Bon Jovi fan here in Finland. This is what I wrote in my Bon Jovi diary on the day I first saw it: *December 17 1988 I saw the video for Born to Be My Baby… I couldn't help but cry while looking at it because there, captured on film, were all the things I had longed to see: the affection, the camaraderie, Jonny… The video was shot in black and white and in some ways it was very plain, the concept being very basic: the guys are in the studio and supposedly recording 'Baby. But all the rest of it! All that which most people won't detect and understand; with Jonny and Richie singing in the same mic "…you were born to be my baby…" while looking at each other, both smiling and Christ, just really LOVING each other. One can detect it so clearly… The other lovely moment occurred when Jon was hugging this girl - not sure who it was but the hug was a warm one… The kind of hug I would like to have from him, as well. And at that moment he was open for everyone to see. So yeah, I really liked the video a lot. I grew attached to it already.* Once in a while I go back and read my diary from those days and smile to myself. Ah, the golden 80s =)
