Thank you for posting. I have an old Krementz Self-Adjustable Watch Band from the USA from my father from the 1950's and a new Fostner Klip. Both are shorter as they each only fold back once with a single klip. The Forstner has two spring locks on each side of the klip for extra security. But even the Krementz with its simple klip over the link remained secure even after falling numerous times while trying to learn to water ski.

I lost a good watch whilst water skiing. I quickly learnt to wear only watches with secure straps whilst water skiing.

I have two identical Bonnie Bonklips, and the clasp can indeed release if lifted to a perpendicular angle. However, I only learned of this after a year of worry-free use through other user's reports. It can only happen if you are wearing your watch pimp-style dangling, and I never experienced the band open accidentally.

Interesting video, thank you for sharing. It’s a nice bracelet but as you say it’s not 100% secure, this would put me off using it. It would be interesting to see how it compares with the modern versions you mention.

Thanks. I’d like to get my hands on a Forstner Klip. I’ve worked out that if you get it wrapped nice and tight it remains secure. I may try to weld on a ‘tongue extension’, which would clinch it.

That's a big watch for a little braclet lol. Put it on a time period accurate watch like an a11 or a17 and see how secure it feels.

I am generally a big fan of vintage watches, I own approx 40. But honestly, where is a reason why those Bonklips aren’t popular anymore.
