Was at this show. Incredible experience. Huge storm came in, band went off as it approached. Organizers cut the set a little short due to lightning. Band was visibly pissed bc they were in a zone.

I saw them at Newport Folk Festival a few years back and it started pouring rain as they played. I don’t think they had to cut it short but I remember they were the last band to play and a bunch of the crowd packed up and left. My wife and I stayed and just danced in the rain

I was there, too! What a hell of a weekend that was. So much lost footwear, lol. This was my introduction to MMJ, and I just wanted more!

Saw them in ‘17 after a three hour rain delay and they had to cut down their set, but it was still an epic evening

years ago they played a "prom" at the 40 watt club here in Athens Ga - they asked everyone to dress up accordingly. 1st set was MMJ, 2nd set was all prom songs covers like Journey and Cool and the Gang etc. they played for 4 hours. EPIC SHOW. Rolling Stone mag named it one of the 10 best shows ever that you wish you had gone to........

Touch Me I'm Gonna Scream by My Morning Jacket is gorgeous. The original video is animated/unique, but I can't recall if there is a longer studio version. I saw a stage version I am gonna try to find, I'll see if I can figure out which one it was... but honestly, the studio sound just can't quite be duplicated on stage. Its kinda cool to see the instrument he plays on stage tho. A little handheld synthesizer. But some of the stage shows are not good picks.)

part 1 or part 2? part 1 is so good. used to binge listen to that while thinking about my crush in high school LOL❤️
@Manageode3 жыл бұрын
@@hipxlovex I can understand your sentimental attachment then. Those hormones of youth sure did run strong. I was thinking of Part 2 though. I think the album version becomes repetitious at 8:00 minutes if you are just sitting there expressly to listen to it, so I would go for the original video, which is shorter. I usually recommend longer song versions but, but in this case that's my solitary opinion. Others may want to zone out to the long one, and disagree with me?

This is one of the ALL TIME GREAT live performances at Bonnaroo (or anywhere else for that matter). And I LOVE your appreciation of the greatness. At this point in my life, my brothers & sisters are only those who GET IT when it comes to art & music like this.

I have a friend who's into these guys, and I like the energy, especially in this one. Guess I'll check out more. Those Bonnaroo events look like video we've seen of Woodstock, albeit on a somewhat smaller scale. I never know what I'll find on this channel, and that's awesome. Keep it up!

Another group I love. Thank you.This one is a little harder rocking than my brain can handle most days, but I love a lot of their stuff. Someday yah gotta see My morning Jacket doing Call Tyrone with the originator, Erykah Badu, joining them. So fun. I like it better than seeing Badu do it by herself (although she is great doing it live, solo).
