People don't understand there's levels to love.. family familial, friends, platonic, lovers, siblings, children.. sometimes you can love someone so much, on a mental or emotional level, but not attracted to that person physically, it's called platonic love--Bonnie and Damon. Damon and Elena is just pure lust and emotional attachment that consumed them, and it's another love that wants to share self with that other person. He love her as much if not more than Elena, since they actually did spend months alone in the Phoenix stone world together. They got to know each other on a deeper level, without anyone's presence, literally.. than He or Elena ever did since there were outside interferences in yhe outside world.

Kate Li I feel like people don’t see Bamon as a romantic relationship because Julie Plec (the producer) tried to push it away as far as possible. Damon and Elena’s relationship was toxic anyways. People say they like them together cos they’re cute together. In reality, all they do is have sex. Tbh, Bamon is a better ship because one, the actors are very VERY close and two, they have a deeper understanding of each other on an emotional and physical level. Bamon is so endgame to me
