Love this song, is there a history behind it? Sounds very Scottish.

it's about the Battle of Glenlivet between the catholics and the protestants (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Glenlivet)
@CliftonHicksbanjo3 жыл бұрын
It is an old Scotch ballad going back several hundred years. A lot of people say it references the Battle of Glenlivet in 1594, but I've not seen any proof of this claim.

We are blessed that Frank Proffitt was recorded onto a few albums. I know you didn’t learn this from him but anyway. His material is authentic. I played Trifling Woman on my channel at a gig and everybody loved it... proves that all this old time/traditional music runs through us Southerners veins.

Good morning. I'm out front in the courtyard of my apartments, a-huffin' and a-puffin' on some weed and listening to Country and Bluegrass. After this video I'm going to play ol' Skelly boy. ✌️🙏✊

Just tried it out and it sounds great with an A minor chord instead of the C major on the high part!

The Campbell's were pretty notorious in Scotland with their hatred of the McDonalds. They were the clans involved with the Glencoe massacre but the song could be referencing any time period in relation to their quarrel. Their are still places in that area around Glencoe where Campbell's still are not welcome lol

I read somewhere that the Graham's were one of the most infamous border crime families. Our famous preacher from North Carolina, Billy Graham, is one of their descendants. The book I read claimed the whole family was deported after some members were charged with tacking human hides up on the outside of a house...

@@CliftonHicksbanjo wow lol at the end of the day there was always a reason the families came to America. It just wasn't always simply to start again 😂
