It's open to interpretation. He sings the words of love swaying back and forth and moving like a breeze. Keep the love moving with a little effort

I think he is wanting to be loved completely and yet without a lot of Illusion or attachment. And he realizes he is being very lofty

He is saying that he can’t marry her because she isn’t fully committed the way he is..he knows she has doubt so he tells her they should take a break and he’ll wait for her to love him the way he loves her. It’s sad. He tells her to go find another man so she can see that the way he loves her is special. Andrew Bird covers it really well.
