Truly the happiest possible ending. All the kids getting to move on and William suffering for eternity is a satisfying ending, and it could definitely be considered happy. But imagine if EVERYONE got their peace. Not a single soul left behind to suffer. The one who actually deserves it finally showing all of his regret, and getting forgiven because of it. Personally I'd find that even better. Granted, it's probably just me. If anyone prefers to see the bastard suffer i totally get it. But still.

I feel sad saying this, but at this point in the franchise, as much as we all love it, an ending as simplistic and cheap as this- Afton depicted in his classic 8-bit "Purple Guy" self (instead of some super-virus inside a hybrid animatronic with telekinesis), standing in front of his victims and saying "sorry" would genuinely be a much more satisfying conclusion to the story (and a nod to us OG fans who have grown tired of all the new lore and sci-fi) than whatever they're going for right now. With a lore as convoluted, huge and overcomplicated as post-SL FNAF has, where more and more kids get murdered left and right, characters keep coming back for a hundred times, more and more sci-fi additions are made etc, it is extremely hard, if not impossible, to achieve any emotional impact. The new games, despite having all the opportunity in the world to tell a good story, just shower it with endless events that happen just for the sake of cheap plot twists rather than telling a good story. It makes for entertaining and fun games, but not a story you're attached to in any way. And that's the reason why FNAF 1-3 were always infinitely better than the new ones lore-wise. The original FNAF trilogy, despite being so cryptic, managed to tell a horrifyingly sad and depressing, yet emotional and beautiful story by using smth as simple as 8-bit minigames, classical music, newspaper clippings and still images of animatronics. You could truly feel the pain, sadness, and agony of the murdered children, feel the depressing weight of their suffering and fear, having to spend decades swallowing dust in near complete darkness, their fragile spirits trapped inside the grotesque, moldy mechanical tombs that are the animatronics, endlessly wandering the cold, concrete halls of the dark, old pizzeria, desperately hoping that the ever-smiling purple figure of the man who took their lives all those years ago will show up so they could have their revenge on him and finally be free from this hell. Through descovering the secrets and details of that unique, cryptic lore you would realise how incredibly sad this story is, and that emotion is just missing in the new games. You just go "oh, cool, x number of kids were killed in x year and became x animatronics, another piece of lore solved". Purple Guy just feels like a comically evil supervillain now, not an uncanny and mysterious killer he used to be. You can't feel the weight of his sins, he's no longer a believable character that could exist irl. Him coming back all the time is just a joke now too. Overall, I am just trying to say that I miss the original trilogy. There's little to nothing wrong with the new games, but I'm really sad for the new fans entering this fandom, whose first impression of FNAF will be the fun and entertaining, but soulless and convoluted games like Security Breach, not the hauntingly beautiful, sad and mysterious games from the original era of FNAF.

i agree bc the people who grew up with the old fnaf era experienced more sadness with games than the newer ones bc scott cawthon made them fun and the new owner of fnaf is making it less scary bc of the censored ship...i also agree about security breach bc from what i saw my lil sister got into fnaf but not the good old fnaf but the new fnaf and i rather go back to that time

I think the ending would be more interesting if the souls kept William alive to see if he felt any remorse for his actions only for them to realise that he won't ever change his ways so they decide to end everything by burning down fazbear frights and killing William in the process I think would the suit the series and make the ending more different rather than the typical bad guy redemption troupe

fnaf 1-6, will always be in my heart, they should have ended it at 6 or 3, that would have been best, although i like the new games, i feel it willl never have the same love, care and soul that scott put into it, with all the si-fi and charecters coming back over and over again...it grows old nothing will ever beat waiting with the new teasers, with your funko/sanchie plushies waiting for the new game to drop so you can watch markiplier play it... and it wasn't just scott and mark making the game what it is today.....it was us, people like iron horse cinema who made the fan made fnaf movie trailors, people like andimatronic and gaia spinzani, who made the insane cosplays, it wasn't just a franchise....it was a family. fnaf 6 will always be the true end in my heart, i feel bad for the new fans who missed it....but we can show them how magical it was. i just feel as though afton coming back is just a bad twist that shouldent have happend, they barely showed vanny, if they wanted to make a 2nd story, cool, but nothing ever beats the original, it was lightning in a bottle, and im so greatful that i was able to be apart of that. we should show the new fans how magical fnaf used to be, the only people who make it just a little bit magical is, dawko, and mark.....but i think its time for the OGs to close the doors and look back on what we did..especially with scotts retirement, scott thank you for the memories...and i wish you luck...the best hope is that when the movie drops...it will bring back the old story....so we can relive those times. obviously not but scott, steel whool, jason blum if you ever read this, do us rested, and ressless souls justice with the movie, and show how magical fnaf was, and how great it can be.... thank you for reading, and if you are a new fan, stay strong, and dont feel bad, encorage steel whool to make it better, now for the OGs, take my hand, this ends for all of us...and the ones we've carried in our arms "there was more fantasy and fun where i came from" - fredbear

I cant help but agree with this I will always love the new games if they're appealing and I'd like to see where they can take this within the next few years, but nothing and I mean *NOTHING* , will beat the beauty & story of the first 6 games, it was perfection, true emotion & a good story once we all put the puzzle pieces where they needed to be. How it was an accident, the rip and tear left in every motion. In a room of reckon and a sight of William saw was hell on earth. Confined in a room for thirty years with high devotion and shrouded in complete darkness. With nothing but the sound of rain crackling growing louder and louder and dripping through the frost wedged cracks of the ceiling. Paralyzed and numb to the failure he is left in a molding room with sleep and sensory deprivation. Cassidy was there all along but William didn’t see her but she did. Patiently waiting. The last thing he remembers is his life time friend boarding him up and then the light fades. He can only think of HENRY, MICHAEL. After all it’s all he has.

I love this. Also, lets be honest, William has gone wayyyyyyy to far to even think of apologizing. Even then, whatever he does will result in agony/pain. Him being spring trap, burn trap, scrap trap etc, has caused him physical pain and if he gives up and goes to hell, he'll just be tormented with all the pain/agony he's caused. Either way, he's trapped in a loop of pain and agony and death.

This should’ve been the actual ending. Don’t get me wrong, I love the games past FNAF 3 but they were unnecessary to the lore. The soul of purple guy apologizing to his victims should’ve been it. We have so many characters that just don’t make since and so many events that some guy irl has lost his damn mind over (talking about matpat). This really should’ve been the ending to FNAF, it gives you the emotional connection to the game and it’s a some what nice ending.

for me personaly fnaf ends on fnaf 6, ill give my little overview of how i think the story is more or less like The Aftons (Oldest to Youngest): William, Michael, Elizabeth and C.C (I personaly think C.C is younger than Elizabeth as well as he died first (it makes zero sense for elizabeth to die first as SL animatronics werent even made before 1983) C.C birthday: After the bite Michael and his friends are panicking on how to get out of this situation, once William sees what happends Michael and his friends lie to William that Freadbear attacked C.C on his own, William is filled with pain and anger. This is where fnaf 4 takes place, we play as C.C as hes in a hospital in a coma and the nightmares are haunting him during his coma as to represet him fighting for his life in the coma, on the night with nightmare C.C dies as nightmare represeants death for C.C. William is broken with hurt and sadness. He blames Henry for the accident as we can speculate that Henry was the one that made Freadbear and William made Springbonnie, so he would balme Henry for making an animatronic that killed his kid. One night when William is drivnig drunk from a bar he spots Charlotte outside the pizzeria, he decides to do the same as he think Henry did to him, in blind range mixed with alcohol William kills Charlotte, once he realizes what hes done he panics and attempts to hide her body behind the pizzeria garbages where then Puppet comes and Charlotte posseses the Puppet. William seeing that the death of Charlotte hasnt made such impact as he thought on Henry and that the pizzeria is still succesfull, he then kills the 5 missing kids in his rage and perhaps yet again being drunk to ruin Henrys only happyness being the pizzera (He probably didnt kill them all at once but on seperate ocassions luring them in), some time after he realizes what hes done as he beacomes somber and in a panic he hides the bodies somewhere and after the pizzeria closes he stuffs the bodies into the animatronics, Puppet would witness it or perhaps follow/stalk William (we know from fnaf 2 that puppet had free will and was able to roam around the pizzeria whenever she wanted) and she would somehow make the souls posses the kids, William would soon realize there is something wrong with the Animatronics and after they get reports of them oozing with some black substance is when he realizes he can create something that would potentionaly make him, and the rest of his familiy immortal, so he could protect them and possibly bring C.C back. Thats when he starts creating SL animatronics around in 1985-1987 id say as a rival pizzeria to Henrys and a way to experiment more with remnant (I think that short after the murderers and creating of remnant he would inject him self with it), thats when he looses elizabeth and goes into alcoholism which causes him to be sometimes abusive towards Michael. Somewhere in 1993, William is sufferning from the pain of the loss of his two children and the actions hes done, he attempts to try and reedem him self by destroying the animatronics hoping it will release the souls free but he was wrong, he dosent find Cassidy but rather she finds him and starts chasing him (In my opinion William is scared of spirits/ghosts thats why he was running away from Cassidy in fnaf 3 minigame), hes chased into the safe room and his escape is cut by the remaining 4 souls which waited for cassidy to chase him there, William enters the springbonnie suit hoping that in it the souls wont be able to do anything to him which causes his death by springlocks, but he survives because of the remnant he injected into him self years prior which ultimatly leads to the souls still being stuck as they have not compleated their goal yet and the fact that the remnant still works despite the animatronics being destroyed (we know remnant stops working only in high temperatures) Somewhere around that time Michael finds a note that William left behind with says how he regrets the things hes done, what hes done and what hes planning to do and that begs Michael for only one thing, go to SL, find Baby and free Elizabeths soul. Michael tries to do so but dies at the hands of Ennard (Elizabeth, she had full control of Ennard and she either used CB to lure the other animatronics into Scooping Room or just possesed them to get them there) Now we got fnaf 3 where Michael attempts to find William after dying in SL, he finds him and tries to set the pizzeria on fire to free his father (Id expect Michael to go thru Williams stuff when William was gone to free the missing children souls, so he would know that remnant stops working at hight temperatures) but that fails, Michael meets up with Henry to plan out how to free the rest of the souls (Charlie, Elizabeth and the Missing Children) (Before that Henry created FFPS just as a pizzeria but after meeting with Mike his plans changed and created a labirynth inside the pizzeria to capture and free the souls) they menage to get everyone in including William which was aware of what were Michaels and Henrys plan but he was fascinated with it and tired of his life and wanted to rest like the rest too, thats where fnaf 6 is and everyone dies in the fire (Henry, Mike, Scraptrap-William, Scrap Baby-Elizabeth, Lefty-Charlotte (I think its funny to speculate that Henry named Lefty like that because Charlotte was left handed) but what about Molten Freddy? I belive he was possesed by the 5 missing kids as we have implementations of it from one of candy cadets storys about 5 children being stiched into one or something like that. Everyone is freed, William is suffering in hell created by Cassidy and the story ends with William regretting his decisions and life, accepting his fate of eternal torture wishing he could just turn things back

Although my favorite animatronic right now has to be sun because well, hes the first wholesome character that didnt and cant die, (Also forgot to mention, suns my comfort character) I admire the eeriness and the creepy, depressing, and dark aspects of the old fnaf games, lore wise, I love old fnaf, gameplay and character design wise, I love security breach, I also love the idea in security breach, lore wise, that purple guys soul is just glitchtrap who can possess whatever he pleases, I kind of feel like people like the old fnaf more because old vintage stuff and vhs tapes and stuff can make for something really creepy and sense the future doesnt have that stuff it just feels new and not nostalgic, vintage type backrooms esc creepiness and I can respect that as I myself like stuff like that, however, sometimes what seems like something rushed and boring such as security breach could potentially be really important lore wise, although it may not seem like it right now, as I like to say, "trust the process" it may not be as creepy as older fnaf games right now but you might just be suprised with what the future may bring, I maybe wrong but then again, we never know truly know Edit: I'd like to add to this by saying that we cant stick in the 1980-1990s forever, we have to upgrade, and itd be stupid for William to stuff corpses in walk around animatronics, and besides, the corpses/souls in the animatronics was what was scary in the first place right? And I'm sorta beginning to think that the endoskeletons have souls in them, just the way they act and such, maybe some of the spring lock victims other then William? Maybe William's other victims? (I heard he killed like 80 people according to Scott) Also I dont think William will come back in any other games in the franchise, maybe a photo or fragments of his soul or something but nothing else really...

the new lore is not as dark and dose not invoke the feeling dread and hopelessness as much as the old lore, And I Know that the new lore is trying to go for a si-fi tone but I feel like fnaf was suppose to be dark and have A story that convays A feeling of no hope and insanity. I also liked how the old lore depicts how even if someone dose no wrong dose not mean nothing bad could happen to that person. Its sad but its true.

Dude this is FNAF, a series that embodies the quote by Socrates:”The more you know, the more you realise that you knew nothing”. Its actually kinda poetic and akin to life, we always think that since we know more and we in turn think we have a greater understanding than the past but in reality we truly know nothing more than they/we did then, and the same goes for FNAF.
