She's always had a raspy voice, and had vocal problems over the years. It's extremely rare that a singer with a good amount of natural dirt (grit maybe a better description) in their voice can keep their voice intact. Ronnie James Dio is the only one I can think of, held on until he was 60. But even then he just couldn't hit the higher notes, he still had vocal power.

the amazing Rory Dodd as the male voice, the hidden gem of rock’n’roll. He sang rock’n’roll dreams come through and surf’s up on Jim Steinman’s solo album and did a lot of the demo recordings for Jim’s songs. Also sang as a backup singer for Meat. A timeless and underestimated voice. Bonnie glows as usual, and John Denver announcing is the cherry on top

Such a raw performance. No lip synch, no auto-tune, no synchronized anything. Just pure power vocals. I truly pity this generation that will never know that. Maybe Taylor Swift does it.
@renanrpm6 ай бұрын
Taylor Swift is a mediocre singer, she is definitely NOT a representative person to the “talented ones” category. Also, there was a lot of lipsynching in the 80s, basically every european tv show would make the artists lipsynch. Top of The Pops is really famous for the lipped performances.
@luciancombs44636 ай бұрын
@@renanrpm Respectfully disagree. And, Madonna aside, if you really want to check vocals go to a concert or watch a live performance. Paramore, Debbie Harry, Beyonce, Evanescence, and yes, Swift, have amazing vocals. And Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Faith Hill. I know there are others I'm just listing a few artists I listen to. And I dare ANYONE to go up against Nina Simone.
@renanrpm6 ай бұрын
@@luciancombs4463 Why are you citing all these current artists if I talked about the 80??? 🤡 And no, Taylor Swift is a poor singer. She has a bad technique, more speaking than actually singing and has a limited voice. If you understood a bit about vocals, you would never say she has amazing vocals 💀
@luciancombs44636 ай бұрын
@@renanrpm Annie Lennox, Tina Turner, Laura Branigan, The Cocteau Twins, Lita Ford, Tanita Tikaram, Toni Childs, Joan Jett, Olivia Newton John. You're being a jerk just to be a jerk. Have fun with that.
@renanrpm6 ай бұрын
@@luciancombs4463 What are all these names? It doesn’t matter how many names you bring, it’s a fact that almost every tv programm would make artist lipsynch in the 80s. Even amazing singers as Whitney Houston would lipsynch due to that. Stupid 💀🤡🫏

Comparing this to the studio…I think this version of her voice should have been the actual recording….it’s real and raw and the TRUE CHARACTER of her voice shines through…..she sounds so much younger on this version, more like a teenage girl sounding so pure and innocent….this is by far my favorite version , especially when Rory gives his true voice….
