My husband is a flooring salesman and we have carpet in all the bedrooms for coziness. Love it. We have other surfaces in the other areas. Don't second guess yourself! You know what works for your family!! 🙋🏼❤️

Carpet is much better in bedrooms, especially on a cold morning. 30 years from now when kids are grown you can always take up the carpet. Love your house!

When your kiddo's are older you can always take up the carpet and do the repairs to the hard wood. I like carpet in bedrooms better though, just because of winter and that first shock of putting your feet on cold wood floors when you get out of the bed in the morning. I love your carpet choice by the way!

I grew up in a house like that in Colorado. The streets look the same even. Probably built about the same year. We found hardwood under carpet AND the tiles. It was a mess, but my mom and I used a chisel and popped off all the tiles. Then we had to have the floors sanded to get the black glue that they used to stick them down. We had the rest of the floors sanded as well and then refinished so it all matched. It came out beautiful.

I think it's fine that you covered the wood, don't feel bad! It's still under there if you want it some day, carpet makes a room so much cozier, it's way quieter, and there aren't dust bunnies rolling under the beds. Good decision 😉

Even though it is killing you to cover those floors, it is just carpet, and those beautiful hardwood floors will still be there. I know you have mentioned before that you guys won't stay in that house forever, that is something you can pass onto the next homeowner and they can decide to keep the carpet or uncover the floors. Or maybe if you guys are still there by the time Lincoln is potty trained, then maybe you'll want to rip out the carpet and just go with hardwood in the bedrooms with nice area rugs. Those hardwood floors aren't going away, so just think of them as you are protecting them until its the right time to reveal them again.

We covered our hardwood floors in the bedrooms and refinished the hardwood in the living areas. It works well that way for us.

The carpet makes sense while you have all your little ones crawling and running around! Like you said, better noise control and softer landing for falls! You can enjoy the hardwood floors maybe when the kids are older :)

I think it's nice to have carpet in the bedroom. It's not like you're ruining the floors by covering them, you can always rip up the carpet some time in the future!

bonnie, the wooden floors will always be there and perhaps one day, when the kids are older and you may not need that room for sleeping, you can simply pull the carpet up. It looks great with the new carpeting!

Don't worry Bonnie, we had hardwood in our older home and I really didn't like it! I thought it was to hard on the babies legs when they would crawl or try to walk. And it was loud and cold a lot. I love the carpet you picked!

I love our hardwoods, but I completely agree with having carpet in bedrooms and such. We only have hardwoods in our living and dining areas. I couldn't do hardwoods in bedrooms

Bonnie i get it. I have beautiful hardwood floors underneath our carpet. I had ankle surgery it was hard to walk on Hardwoods when i had surgery for 2 years so we covered them. I am glad i did. When my son moves out then i will uncover them. You can uncover them when the kids get bigger.

I agree that the hardwood floors are beautiful, however even though you are covering it in bedrooms, it's not like the floor won't be there if you ever wanted to remove the carpet when your kids are older. It's your home, you make it work for you and your family!

Smart to cover floors now with carpet. When the kids are older you can then pull carpet up and enjoy your floors. Also, wood floors are great selling point if you ever move.

Bonnie I have to know the name of that carpet it is beautiful. When we first looked at putting carpet in our house I was like oh no I can not have a pattern carpet. Now that we have sold that house and I see it in yours it looks amazing. We are building new in another state and we have to get builders grade carpet for now. But as soon as we can we are ripping it up and putting down new. I think something similar to what you have would look amazing in our new home!

I have a 50's house with all original hardwood floors. Runners in the hall and large area rugs keep the noise down. It is easier to just vacuum with carpet. I love Lincoln's bald head, all most too bad he will get hair. [not really he will need hair]

Carpet helps keep the heating bill down. bare floors get cold in the winter for the kids..

In my house we only have carpet in the bedrooms and hard wood in the rest of the house. But I think having carpet in the bedrooms just makes it cozy. Ps I love ur family!

I had hardwood floors in my last house and I loved them but in our new home we done hardwood in our family room hallway and master bedroom but in the our kids room we decided with carpenter now that the kids are pretty much grown we are going to take up the carpenter and redo the hardwood so your doing ok don't sweat the small stuff your house is beautiful everything looks very nice love watching your video the kiddos are so cute they make my smile 😊 N.C💙💙💙
