Lincoln can be made to respond to discipline. Put him in the corner or take away things that he likes. He’ll learn that being naughty will cost him his fun time. He’s getting treated to much like a baby.

Was that Lincoln crying in the background while you were cleaning up the crumbs? I think people missed that... I see so many comments saying you should have disciplined him. Sometimes doing anything while angry isn't the option, I think she Bonnie handled this perfectly. She talked out her frustrations and then turned off the camera and dealt with it. I imagine it was him in time out crying while she was wiping up the crumbs. All children are different. It makes parenting so stressful for sure. You are doing great Bonnie.

@Stina62666 жыл бұрын
Lincoln doesn’t respond to discipline because you always laugh when he does something bad so to Lincoln he does it because he doesn’t take you seriously. You have disciplined him right then and there. Not talk about it to the camera. That could have been done after putting him in the corner. Quit laughing every time he does something bad.

Bonnie, you know yourself each child is different. We use the tools we have to discipline. Work on Lincoln's week spot and either take away or make him do something he absolutely hates. You know you'll get the tantrums either way but your kids know not to press your buttons and its time little man learnt the hard way.

Okay I debated commenting but I’m genuinely curious. Is that a typical lunch for your kids, those portion sizes? Just wondering because it seems so tiny! My 14 month old usually eats double that for lunch, so I can’t imagine someone older like Olivia not starving, haha! Maybe they have gotten used to it, or maybe I was just spoiled with my food growing up, but I just wanna give those kiddos something more, haha! Maybe some nice whole grain bread with the tuna, and a yogurt or some crackers or carrots on the side.

Someone made a comment like this on one of Ruby’s videos recently. In America we are very overded and undernourished. If her kids are getting the nourishment they need their bodies will respond to feeling full faster. I actually love that she didn’t give them grains with a meal, because even whole grains in America are still refined and processed. I just got diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes and watched a Ted Talk by an obesity doctor about how extremely limiting it erradicating grains/carbs will reverse Type 2 diabetes, because if you take away the problem the symptoms will disappear. It was amazing. Anyway, we get a lot of misinformation from the government on nutrition which can be frustrating and we already have skewed views of what healthy portions are in america as it is. I was studying to be a nutritionist and after interviewing certified nutritionists for a project I just threw out that plan, because it’s such a government agenda led field. I’m all about research and love it and love me some grains, so am convinced there is a way to get around the whole grains problem (natural yeast breads maybe? Still finding research), but anyway, I guess my point is that their portion sizes aren’t insanely small if they are well nourished (and also sometimes I feed my kids smaller portions to begin with and just give them another small portion if they are still hungry to prevent waste... my kids eat a lot more in the morning and then their eating tapers off throughout the day). Just a million thoughts! Sorry! Take them or leave them. 🙂 I’m not trying to be obnoxious, it’s just clearly been on my mind A LOT this week (especially because I love carbs so much 😭😭😭).

My son feeding therapist said kids are over eating and parents don't even know they're over feeding them. Most make the kids eat everything on off the plates. I was thinking I was under feeding him but nope its best to teach them to eat small size and add when not full. Than to have them eat very big meal and not be able to stop when full because they was told to clean their plates.

@Bonnie Hoellein - Isn't it amazing how many parenting experts and people who can see the parts of your life that you DON'T vlog, watch your videos and comment, Bonnie!? It must be fantastic to have all this advice from total strangers who see 10 minutes of your day and know exactly what's right and wrong about how you live your life, parent your kids and run your businesses? Every child is different. Lincoln may need more stern discipline. It may also help for the family/siblings to not think that his “mischievous behavior” is humorous... I think that’s why he continues to get into “trouble”... We have a little 3 year old red headed prankster in our family!! 😂

RootingForYou .... and we shouldn’t. It’s PRIVATE... I’m sure Bonnie & Joel handled it off camera.... as they should. He just may need a different “style” of discipline than their first 3 children. I think most parents are “guilty” of allowing the baby in the family to get away with more. That’s usually why the youngest is more mischievous. 🙂

I saw the Q-tips and am assuming you used the to wipe the frosting off the tray - So i thought I would share the best life hack my mom taught me! When you're putting the cake on the tray before you ice it, rip up strips of wax or parchment paper and stick them under the edges all around the cake, then after you ice it, just pull them out and it leaves no mess and it saves SO much time and frustration!! NO! I bought and read that book it's terrible throw it away. It tells you to spank your child and if they continue crying spank harder until they stop. It's an abusive awful book. I'm a Christian but I strongly disagree with that book. That man Dobson is WRONG. It's not the way we should discipline. The only tip was to beat. Thankfully I lost that book when we moved if I find it I'm throwing it away! Thought it was going to give me good tips but abusive ones. Also tells you to PINCH your child if your child isn't listening.

She said she does discipline all her children but Lincoin doesn't seem to respond to it, which is normal for some children and even adults. I know I didn't respond to discipline very well, in fact it'd often backfire, usually the opposite works better, rewarding the good but totally ignoring the bad, so they get the feeling that when their well behaved they get the right kind of attention, and receive none when their not on their best behaviour etc.

First of all, i feel like ever since Bonnies surgery AND starting Bollie she has really changed. Im not saying its a bad thing but i do miss the old vlogs that were actually vlogs not just 10 minutes of the kids eating lunch..... i really do miss actually seeing what they get up to in a day....i feel like now all Bonnie thinks about is the fake nails, hair extensions, eyelash extensions ect. i dont want to say it but i do feel like you have become a little fake over the last 6 months. And i partly do feel like the whole reason why Lincoln isn't listening is cause you just brush it off and let him get away with it. I just miss the old Bonnie.

@@LM-mr3fd okay well i shouldn't have used that word then cause im not someone who disagrees with cosmetic-related things however, there isnt another word that i can describe what im seeing... i think what i was more trying to say was that the vlogs are changing and they aren't the same as they used to be and i feel like that has been because of the Bollie brand .
@kathleenframe44805 жыл бұрын
Soph L I agree with what you said and I totally understand what you mean about her changing too. She used to be more humble and relatable and now she is so showy flashy I’m so great in every vlog. Maybe it’s new found confidence ( that she bought) but it’s coming across IMO as conceded. As if she things she is God’s gift because of her body.....it’s kinda sad honestly. Her and Ellie have their entire lives to hustle their brand but the children are only in the house for a limited time and that is what bugs me is that instead of being there for the kids 100% she leans on Bre wayyyy too much to take care of the kids .
