She came in to the restaurant I worked in 2015 at Universal Studios Hollywood. She was so excited that I recognized her. I was so excited about how excited she was. She stands out with her hair, but there's a zillion women in Hollywood that would make a guy stop in their tracks. So when I asked "Are you Bonnie Mckee!?" her eyes lit up like Christmas.

This is a really fascinating song. I always viewed it as another Teenage Dream-esque party anthem, but the lyrics are actually more of a critique of American culture rather than the typical vague praising of it. It’s also bleakly accurate. Everyone is being raised by TV and competition is at an all time high.

Ugh I’d give ANYTHING to go back to being a teenager - I’m 26 & trust me, if I could I would give up whatever I had to to be able to re-live my teens. The stress of school only compared to not being able to go to college because I had to work to pay my bills? Super sucky. Adulthood is beyond stressful; paying for housing, utilities, food, car maintenance/insurance & health insurance (and having to pick a health insurance plan without any help) annnd hoping that your paychecks will be able to cover the expenses due or that the bills you can’t pay don’t have late fees that are super expensive / if you overdraft your bank account that you can repay it before overdraft fees quadruple... LoL it’s A LOT. Be thankful you’re a teenager.

Why is everyone so hypercritical these days? Can't someone just have fun and make music without so much judgment? Not to mention most of the judgment is based on looks, age, weight, etc..? The song is produced well, video is also produced well, it's catchy, fun, quirky, aesthetically pleasing. Just chill out, people!

The rude comment's funny. For the americans responding to my message, I don't hate you guys. All I'm saying is that I think it's sad that American girls feel like they need to be extremely sexual and out there to be liked. I just wish they could understand that being themselves and having their own standards is important. More important than being the stereotypical girl/singer.
