Thanks! 2 and 3 got about the same number of votes, but the feeling for 2 is stronger. So I will do two for now. When I have a compatible juniper, I will add to make it three…This way to provide us a learning opportunity.

I like the arrangement of three trees. The smaller tree seems to be farther away and gives the entire composition the illusion of more depth. The implied path between the middle tree and the smallest tree pulls me into the forest. Whatever you choose to do will be beautiful and intriguing. A slate slab would take it to the next level.

I wil likely do two and add a third one with synergism later. The third tree jsut does not have the mature look to downgrade the two. Also, clumps likes to be similar, whereas forest diverse. Clumb by defintion grows at about the same rate at the same plac.

Although I like the three tree design idea, I think you are right going with just two. Maybe add some rock to the duo. Use that 3rd one for a grouping of 3, with younger ones. I’d love to have your available nearby sources for materials. TWO - this time.

In my opinion, the three tree design elevates the quality of all three trees. Even the tree on the right that you are not so fond of. The whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. Your idea of using slate is amazing! I think it might even be better with some added features between two of the trees like rock or driftwood. I don't know, maybe it just looks good in my head. Haha. Nice work on this tree. Clip and grow is the way to go. I like the 3 over the 2, but just my opinion. As I was always taught, you are the creator and your vision is what counts. Either way you do it will be a work of art.

First, I liked the three, then when you made it two, it did look classy at first, but then it started looking a little cutesy and contrived, in my opinion. I vote that you go with your original intention to make it a group planting or a clump. Going with two would be neither.

I am with you on planting the two Junipers instead of the three the smaller tree is really out of place, it’s obliviously too thin and young looking and is too straight and lacks character compared to the others. Thanks for your video Milton.

Shari describes deadwood in the trunk, Jin is a dead branch and Uro is the hollow wound where the tree healed itself. I am not aware of an own word for deadwood on roots

In my opinion, trees should only be presented together if they complement each other. However, these trees each have so much character that they compete with each other instead of forming a harmony. It's simply too much and I think it would be a waste to plant them together. Personally, I would prefer them as solitary trees. If at all, then at most the two of the three that complement each other reasonably well, but by no means all three together.
