2 anime that are still coming out at the end of 2024, but are my fav in 2024: 1. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War - it's the R rated Bleach arc where many major characters die 2. Orb: On the Movements of the Earth (recommended by Gigguk) - torture anime where people that follow the church vs people that believe in Heliocentricism(the Earth goes around the Sun). Set in the 15th century.

'Gushing over magical girls'' is a perfect show for everyone that liked ''Interspecies Reviewers'', and don't be ashamed, Utena is a good girl. Its one of those ''don't watch with your parents'' show tho. :D Also damn good recommendations on some of the older ova.

Tokyo Revengers is just Yakuza: Like a Dragon with pandirectional time travel. But at least Ichiban actually stands up for himself and for his friends and takes *action* instead of crying in place for 3 episodes straight while people actually *die* around him (no exaggeration). The premise was intriguing and the first few episodes were cute, but man the latter half was so disappointing. I couldn’t recommend it to anyone.

My top 5 2024 anime: 1. Monogatari: Off and Monster Season 2. Orb: On the Movements of the Earth 3. Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master 4. Natsume's Book of Friends 7 5. Your favourite 2024 anime starting with a D Honourable mentions to Frieren and Apothecary Diaries cause they started airing in 2023

@Ferenczys9 сағат бұрын
Hard disagree on the new Ranma 1/2. The OG was my first anime fandom. I lived, breathed and adored every bit of it, and seeing the new interpretation has been a highlight of my week. The new VAs do a great job with the comedy and if you're a purist, the Japanese vocals brought back a lot of the original cast. The wild colors during combat was a fun artistic choice I thought, and I'm honestly confused when people bring up the supposed lack of nudity. Ranma girl form is topless *a lot* if she's not totally nude. Just feels like a weird hill to die on, is what I'm saying. Fight choreography is stellar too, and the modern animation does some sweet things with camera angles that track the action. I'm just saying, if the OG is a classic this feels like an admirable effort. The OVAs were peak of course, and it's going to be impossible to match the crazy production values those shows got at the time. But as far as TV series to TV series, they're both wonderful. Thanks for all your work.

Bro, you are so off on Ranma. The animation is great, it's got like 90% of the original VA cast back, and the manga is finished this time so no endless filler arcs like the original. If the only complaint you can muster is "No nips on these teenage characters" then maybe take a step back and grow up.

If you get the chance, watch Demon Lord 2099, I'm pretty sure you'll like it. it aired its final episode today and ended pretty well though I really really want another season that might never happen. it manages to mash up like four different premises into a weird alchemy that works. basically Demon Lord resurrects 500 years later, but his world and Earth have merged in the meantime, causing a calamity that resolves into a magic cyberpunk dystopia. So clearly some light novel writer got really into Shadowrun, then read one of those bad 'demon lord reincarnates, nobody recognizes him, he proves the doubters wrong' and got mad at the wasted potential and nonexistent character writing. in addition to a really cool setting and premise, it has very likable characters. by the end you just want to hang out with Veltol, his wife, and his friends.

Had a thought rolling around in my head, I have noticed that in all the Gundam anime there is always a "Wing" gundam. Is it just me but is there a reason for that, does it connect all the series together or something. I've always wondered just how many types of gundams are there.

Not Anime but if you want SciFi that's challenging and absolutely wild read the Terra Ignota series of novels. Too Like Lightning is the first book and it's is by far the hardest to get into, but the whole thing really gets going by the end and a lot of questions get answered book two and the whole thing is completely wild.

Stopped at solo leveling. Dont get me wrong, its a fun and interresting anime, but thats about it. Has enough plotholes, and more plot armor than u can think of. In some ways, its much like Jojos bizare adventure. Theres a new power nearly every fight, making the old ones obsolet.
