I think that the balance between a natural look and a manicured look is very interesting. An old neglected bonsai often looks fine enough but emphasizing the elements that bonsai does can reveal a marvel of both human and natural creation that I find very unique.

In today's climate of "everything must be modified to be unique" its refreshing to see something just the way it wants to be. It almost hurt me when he started peeling the bark off. I can't explain my pain, I feel what I feel.

Its great to trim a bonsai cause for a bonsai it's as if you're giving it a hair cut for it to grow stronger. And the bark he peeled off was dead what he did was help rid of the dead bark. Which helps the tree stay healthy.

I feel like I've lost myself over the years. Searching for something to fill a void in my soul. I sit at my computer wasting my life away playing video games day in and out while my children are growing right before my eyes. To see the love and attention this man gives to this tree and his child is eye opening. I need to realign my focus, and somehow this video was all I needed to remember that.

man, bending that branch to a more healthy and optimal position must've been the most stressful part of this restoration. You did all you could to prepare it, but there's no guarantee it just won't snap in your hands. I salute you. what a job.

@@bobicrni1284 Agreed. Should’ve stuck with just making sure it was healthy and decorating. All the excess trimming and stupid shaping stuff ruined the trees natural look and just made it a unnatural art piece. I guess it’s a bonsai hobby thing.

Bonsai trees take an extremely long time to shape, it is regarded as a life time hobby and art of nature. The fact this person has only one video might imply that he gave his all to this one tree, and that alone is just so beautiful💕 Love from Japan 💕

Stunningly beautiful presentation and result. My son purchased a bonsai and neglected it. I believe he thought they just “grew like that”. Not understanding that they are dedicated works of art. Educating him about how much care, attention and time and love is required to “become a bonsai”. I sent him this video. Thank you.

This isn't a real Bonsai Gardener, he just did some shit to the tree for youtube. Real Bonsai Gardening takes years to master, this guy is not a day over 25. He stripped way too much off the tree, leaving it open for infection and fungus. You should never take this much off your tree at once, it's not healthy for them. This tree will most likely die in 6 months now

bonsais are so SO hard and take so much patience and work and tools and knowledge, my auntie had one and it was the most precious plant in her whole life, it was BEAUTIFUL i knew it is a plant for the skilled person to keep healthy, but i didn't knew it took THAT much of work i'll keep just admiring them and taking care of my regular plants.... edit: i commented before watching everything and OH MY GAWD THIS VIDEO IS SO ADORABLE I AM SO HAPPY FOR THIS TINY TREE

@@amided3816 I saw cactus once that was soggy. I don't know how but lt was soggy and it just fell over when I didn't even touch it. It wasn't mine. Not just cacti but I like aloe too.

@bonsaireleaf such a great video. thank you so much for this clear and informative set up. i've had it in my favorites for years. my grandmother passed away and my granddad tries to take care of her bonsai, gave up and put it in the backyard. after years of asking about it, he finally allowed me to take care of my late grandma's beloved bonsai. im not gonna lie, its in a rough shape, but i am planning on using your video as a guideline to get the juniper bonsai back to health!

You should learn about horticulture before trying to care for bonsai. Also using youtube videos as your sources for learning bonsai isn't the best idea. Find a local bonsai club or teacher who can give you real world experience, it's valuable in the progression of bonsai.
