1:07:13 that “t-shirt bar” conversation is truly important for a lyricist to grasp. Appreciate this.

100%, Dan was really on point with that comment. Glad you appreciated it!

I’d love for him to do a project with JUNIE.

that would be dope, JUNIE is sick

I don’t know how everyone on here unanimously don’t like Tuez Les Tous. That album is the shit to me. Kill Em All not so much except for the Droog song. I still repeat that jawn 5-10 times when it comes on. But TLT is great to me.

I thought it was just fine... Muggs' production was pretty dry to me especially, and didn't do much to accentuate Mach's raps much to me
@brvalentine13 ай бұрын
@@rapmusicplugpod that’s interesting because my opinion is exactly the opposite. Nothing dry about Muggs to me. I just listened to TLT today thinking about how y’all shit on it and it just made me double down on disagreeing. Two sets of ears hearing the exact opposite thing is why it’s all opinions and preferences. That’s why in my later years I’m more lenient on what people like musically.

Mach not Mac

oh LOL, I promise you... There is no one person that pronounces names as funny as Dan. But we love him anyways!

The shit drives me nuts. I don’t understand how at this point of his career people still saying “Mack”. And he is quarterbacking the interview at least 15 minutes in so I’ll see how it goes. I guess I’m gonna have to hear the mispronunciation of his name for the entire two hours. No big deal ultimately I’m just breaking his balls, but it is weird to still hear that.

@@brvalentine1 I feel your pain, but it's a sprawling conversation that gets into a lot of cool nuance about what makes Mach special... which involves the god Fanon of all people. So it's a highly rare conversation that I recommend you give your time to!

@@rapmusicplugpod now I’m halfway in listening on the expressway to Atlantic City to pick someone up and you’re right it is great conversation! The mispronunciation is still offputting. It’s easy to accept when someone has a complicated name and our English tongues are not used to it, but I don’t seem hard to pronounce “Mach” Seems like people purposely do that but the convo definitely outweighs my irritation about that.

I totally disagree with your Black Thought criticism that’s borderline disrespectful. I know it’s all opinions, but my Philly biased compelled me to let that be known.
@rapmusicplugpod3 ай бұрын
I don't feel it was disrespectful at all. And I LOVE Thought, saw him and The Roots perform 2-3 times now. He's a legend, but every legend has some minor drawback, and with Thought there sometimes is a lack of special sauce or unique personality in his performances that can be a bit of a limiting factor. Doesn't mean he's not an incredible and one of the best ever - because he is.

@@rapmusicplugpod lol totally disagree. All good I tend to disagree a lot with people’s takes in the underground community. We like the same music but the opinions be totally different in a lot of cases. Don’t know what sauce you’re looking for but to me Thought is a pure emcee. And he has this freaky talent of knowing everyone’s style. Mos Def is the same way. He can memorize anyone’s bars. There’s like a 10 minute song that The Roots did in the mid 99s where Thought rapped like every single emcee you can think of in the eras leading up to 94. He sounds exactly like all of them and it’s like Jackin for Beats the rapper edition. It’s the most wildest and entertaining thing I heard from an emcee.

The criticism isn’t much of a criticism at all. Black Thought is an incredibly disciplined writer/performer while Mach is much more of an unpredictable writer/performer.
