Their Afros are touching their SHOULDERS?!! DAMN!!!!! By far the biggest Afros of all time. Sheesh. When your ears are completely covered and your Afro is touching your shoulders...wow! With all due respect to Sister Sledge, my darling Rebbie & Co., the Jones Girls, etc: Those Sylvers sisters are the hottest entertainment sisters I've ever seen. Yeow!
@Dee Jones : I was there back in the day too, sweetie. I hate to disappoint you, but for 95% of Black folks, our hair simply won't grow that long AS AN AFRO. You need a blowout kit to go the extra mile and get an AFRO to get that big.

Their dance moves worked so well with the lyrics & beat. They were always in sync. Just like the late singer Aaliyah, she would execute the steps so effortlessly and with what seemed like a light groovy energy becausenof breath control as a singer not wanting to sound winded..it always worked out well. She _did_ learn from the best. Artists from The Slyvers era were true entertainment. Leon III IS SUCH an amazing writer like his father.on I remember listening to the song "Gopher" sung by the little angels whilst on the game show with Graucho Marx absolute talent!
@dme10169 ай бұрын
But that was also part of the....problem: Their movements were just too perfect & too fast & too twitchy & too uniformed. And....there were too many Sylvers onstage! It was like watching 2 NBA teams on court.....doing twitchy dance moves! Wasn't right, long-term...

On this day in 1976 {March 20th} Sylvers performed "Boogie Fever" on the late Dick Clark's 'American Bandstand'. One month earlier on February 14th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; and on May 15th it peaked at #1 {for 1 week} and it spent 21 weeks on the Top 100. On the same day it reached #1 in America it also reached #1 on the Canadian RPM National Singles chart, and again it was for one week. And on March 6th it also peaked at #1 {for 1 week} on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart.
