It depends on what level of school the book is being banned. Teenagers do have sex. So books with explicit sex should not be banned for teenagers. In fact, when I was young, some sex education was taught in 5th grade because some girls begin menstruating as young as 10 years old. Book banning is bad. The parents doing it are not doing it to protect their own children. They are doing it for purely political reasons. It is a bunch of rabid women trying to control what other people (not their own kids) are reading.

Some books are banned because there is fear among showing criticism of things to children at young ages that will cause future discrimination and stigmatization against certain groups. One example is police officers because when children hear something they become obsessed with it due to their developing brains. @@rickwyant They don't groom young people, they teach americans how to be better than their previous generations who were generally racist and homophobic. But conservatives hate it because it paints them as the villain, which I guess is too offensive for them. The irony is that when other people are offended by the conservatives' behavior, they act like the liberals are crazy, but when it's the other way around, then people have to take them seriously. The main reason for the ban is that most of the US is conservative, mainly because of the southern states, which have remained very traditional over the years, so the liberal minority will never really win. In Canada, it is the opposite, we have a liberal majority and a conservative minority. Sometimes, the conservative party gets elected but the country itself remains a lot more liberal than the US, because our history with Christianity was extremely negative.
