So many good book recommendations for cosy winter night reading. Don't worry about videos not being slick and perfect. People seem to like your videos just the way they are presented.💗

I have The Magpie & The Wardrobe, I agree that it's a lovely book to dip in and out of. I love your videos and I always look forward to the next one. I recently watched your Blists Hill video again as I love it so much. I've been to Beamish but would like to go to Blists Hill at some point. Looking forward to seeing your next adventure 🙂

Was the first book mentioned about “spells”? 😞 That is witchcraft and demonic. While so many books mentioned are wonderful reads, I am sad that you support witchcraft. Your channel would grow better if you left it out.

I know this is an old video but so many interetsing books. Will get the Bear and the Nightingale. Even in my part of the world people did (and some still do) put out gifts and food to the keeper of the farm or other beings. Actually very many stamp three times in the ground before doing certain things to give the little folk that lives down there time to move away...

Please don’t purchase ring lights and fancy microphones, your videos are beautiful and authentic just as they (and you both) are. I’ve barely started this video but looking forward to more recommendations. I found a 2nd hand copy of The Little Shop of Found Things after watching your previous “booky” video and am enjoying it immensely.

I prefer your 'Organic' style videis. Lovely selection of books too. One of my favourites for this time of year is 'The Country side in Winter 'by Brian Jackman, a journalist who lives in West Dorset. Also I book I won at Junior school in the sixties is 'Yaffle Wood'.

Mmm, interesting, intimate and cosy. My overlarge library mostly reflects my academic career, so non fiction for the most part - Greek Classics, Greek Tragedians, Early Medieval History and so forth. However, over the years Have bought a few children`s books, often illustrated, first editions or signed whenever possible. Those books include titles such as ' A Midsummer Nights Dream ' illustrated by W.Heath Robinson, A selection of increasingly rare books by Kate Greenaway, ' The Iron Wolf ' Richard Adams and fabulously illustrated by Yvonne Gilbert, the absolutely gorgeous ' The Four Donkeys ' by Lloyd Alexander, delightfully illustrated by Lester Abrams, ' The Mirrorstone ' by Michael Palin and Alan Lee, and ' East of the Sun and West of the Moon, illustrated by Kay Nielson, to name a few :) I bought these titles to give myself some occasional light relief from my all too usual diet of heavy reading, but they and other titles will always be a treasured part of my library. Thank for this quite lovely video in your cosy cottage - absolutely super :)

How wonderful. We had to get rid of over half our books before we moved here as this is such a small property. There is such simple pleasure in reading a physical book as opposed to a kindle
@MrTorleon

@@cerridwencottagediary9194 Indeed, I concur with your sentiments completely. I have never owned, or have ever had any interest in electronic readers. I buy mostly hard backs, and even though I live far away, continue to order my books from Blackwell Books in Oxford, as I have done for over fifty years :) My late wife and I had to leave behind a large number of books in Oxford to move here, - not because of a smaller property, but to reduce the enormous costs of an International move, but found good homes for them, between academic colleagues and enthusiastic students. However, it was quite an upsetting wrench :( thank you once again for this charming and delightful video - very well done :)

@@MrTorleon We prefer hardbacks also. It is a wrench to get rid of books that have been with you for many years. It is almost like saying goodbye to old friends

@@cerridwencottagediary9194 absolutely when it has to be done, but I have worked diligently over subsequent years to replace those books I could not live without - such as a book bought just a week or two ago - 'Greek Tragedy' by the late H.D.F.Kitto - in my view the best book ever written on this subject, initially bought when reading Classics at uni. A set of books I could not leave behind, a set of large picture books, prepared and printed in Moscow between 1898 and 1905 - various traditional tales by Alexander Pushkin. The block printed colour is that delightfully subdued colour so specific to Russia of the time. I suspect you would love these :) I bought an additional four, printed in the 1970`s, but the colour is simply not as rich and deep as the original printing. Take care - from one book lover to another :)
